When power is applied, the controller will output voltage that is set by the last used setting. By pushing the rotary voltage adjustment knob the voltage output will be shut down. Push the knob again and preset voltage will be outputted once again.

Controller worked well for about 2 weeks before making a high pitched squealing sound, anyone else know why?

Overloaded Mosfet transistor for the PWM output or failed PWM driver most likely.

Can this br used with a permanent magnet motor?

This controls a plain DC motor, a permanent magnet type.

What does the frequency setting control if you can already control it with the high and low settings?
