Amazon Brand Solimo Coffee Pods - What a steal! Let me tell you why these are a must-try for any coffee fan like me. First off, I was super happy to see that all the coffee pods come in one box, mixed up instead of being sorted by flavor or strength. It saves space and cuts down on waste, which is awesome. It’s a nice touch that shows Amazon cares about being eco-friendly. One of the coolest things about these pods is the variety. With three different flavors and strengths, there’s something for everyone. Whether you’re craving a strong, bold cup or something milder, Solimo has you covered. The taste is really on par with other big-name brands, so it’s a great alternative without losing any flavor. The only downside I’d mention is the number of dark roast options. As a medium roast fan, I wish there were two medium roasts and just one dark roast. But hey, the dark roast does have its charm, even if it’s not my top pick. It’s a bit bitter, but I can deal with that given how good the coffee is overall. The medium roast is a treat. It has a subtle cocoa hint that adds a rich flavor to every sip. And the French roast? The smell while brewing is just amazing, like it’s perfectly flavored. I’m not a coffee expert, but I know what I like, and Solimo Coffee Pods hit the mark. They offer a satisfying and tasty coffee experience that I’d totally recommend to anyone looking for a great deal without skimping on quality. To be clear, I’m rating the dark assortment. French Roast - Best of the three. Bold and flavorful as a French roast should be. Rich, smooth, and highly enjoyable. I definitely want more of this. Dark Roast - The weak link. Not nearly as good as the French roast. Less bold than the French, and with a bitter edge that’s a real turn-off. Might have been from an old batch that lay around the warehouse too long. I would be gun-shy about trying this again. Colombia - Medium roast and smooth, but not particularly flavorful. On the bland side for me, but a lot of folks would love this coffee. Compares very well with top-rated medium roasts that cost 2-3 times as much. This assortment was apparently thrown together (perhaps literally) from open boxes of each variety. The K-cups were loose in the box, and though I didn’t separate and count them, it was clear that the person who threw my box together didn’t count either. It was way off from the advertised 40/30/30 split. Luckily for me, I received at least fifty of the French Roast, the best of the bunch. I’ve drunk coffee every day since I was four, and I love it. But I’m not going to pay $0.75-1.00 a cup for at-home coffee. Although the Dark Roast was barely mediocre, the Colombian was good, and the French Roast was excellent. The assortment is great for someone who wants to try several different coffees, or for someone who’s buying for different people who don’t all like the same thing. Overall, there’s some bang for the buck here—a very good value.

If you like switching up your coffee every morning this box is for you. I love all these varieties. They all provide a slightly different strength and flavor. Why pay for name brands when these taste just as good if not better. I love starting my day with this coffee.

We’ve been drinking the coffee from this assortment for about three weeks. The assortment consists of approximately 30 pods of dark, 30 pods of Columbian, and 40 pods of French Roast coffee. Now I don’t proclaim to be a coffee expert but I know what tastes better to me and also ask my wife what she likes or dislikes. I usually drink two to three 12oz mugs of coffee, my wife drinks one 10oz cup of coffee every morning! In preparation for the arrival of the coffee I did a thorough cleaning of our coffee maker and replaced the filters. So here goes! The first morning I had the dark roast my wife had the french roast. My dark roast was pretty good, my wife said that she didn’t think much of her french roast. The Good: My wife prefers the Columbian medium roast out of the three. To her the Dark Roast was a little too strong. I liked the taste of the Dark Roast but the Columbian was better. The Dark had a little bite to it. So I concur with my wife! Out of the three we will more than likely reorder the Columbian Medium Roast coffee! The Bad: The French Roast! My wife tried it three times and said “Never again!” I tried it four times and the last time was all I could stand. The best way to describe it, to me, is a skunky taste that lead to pouring it out after drinking a third of it. The Ugly: I discussed the assorted coffees with my wife and we both agreed that neither one of us would consider drinking any more of the French Roast coffee, nor would we consider giving it to a friend or neighbor or even a stranger! It was that bad! That’s when I went through the box to cull the French Roast out and discovered that the assorted coffee had more of the French Roast pods. 33 pods plus the seven we tried to drink equals 40 pods into the trash. The rest of the Dark Roast and the Columbian Medium Roast pods we’ll consume. A side Note: We have had no issues with any of the pods that we have used exploding! For those that are having issues with any pods exploding, I suggest when loading the pod into your coffee machine that you push the pod down into the holder until the bottom of the pod is punctured, then close the lid down on the pod! Try it, it works! IN SUMMARY: We all live and learn! When buying in bulk for the first time, we don’t know what we’re going to get until we get it and try it! I learned that out of this assortment of coffee the bulk of these coffees are relatively good and that out of the three coffees there was a winner, a second place and a real looser! (0^0)

My wife is the coffee snob, but it was nice to be able to compare these side by side for me. French roast literally means that a bean is roasted to the darkest possible color... of the 3, this was my favorite. French roast is a dark roast variety, and the beans rarely (if ever) come from France. Solomon calls this a 9 out of 10 for strength of flavor... this was my favorite of the three, and was tied for first for my wife. Dark roast... kinda a vague description, but this was my second favorite and tied for first for my wife... this is supposed to be just a touch smoother and just a touch less coffee taste. Solimo rates this an 8 out of 10 for flavor strength. Colombian... Colombian is a type of bean that is also grown specifically in Colombia... not to be confused with Arabica beans from Columbia. To call this a dark roast variety seems a stretch in terms of flavor... very watery, and both my wife's and my least favorite flavor of the three. This one variety is the sole reason we won't be buying this variety pack again. Solimo rates their Colombian pods a 6 out of 10 for flavor strength. Compared to the other 2 I'd say a 3 or 4 would be more appropriate... not a fan. We reordered the French roast, but well worth it for the side by side comparison. We might go back and forth between the French and Dark to change things up.
