A Guide for Listening and Inner-Healing Prayer: Meeting God in the Broken Places

Listening prayer is something my wife and I have been practicing for years, not knowing there was a book or official process to it. Discovering this book was a Godsend for us. It is incredibly powerful and practical, and the only reason I gave it four starts and not five was because of how in depth and detailed it gets. I wouldn’t recommend it for a new Believer or someone with zero understanding of this kind of work, without the knowledge that it gets very deep and detailed.

Everyone must read this book!!! It is so informative! It is necessary for everyone to seek the Lord in the way advised in this book!! I highly recommend!!!

Life changing on so many levels. I want everyone I know to go through this book.I am a huge proponent of therapy, and I feel like this book has given me the framework for God to be my therapist! The author doesn’t say anything that ridiculous, but it’s the best way I can describe my transformation. I have actually drastically reduced the frequency I meet with my therapist since reading this book, because of the breakthroughs God has accomplished in me as I ask him the questions this book provides. It makes perfect sense that the one who created my soul is the one who will bring healing to it.This book is easy to read, straightforward, and a great reference and launch pad to help people expand their relationships with God into the depths of the brokenness of their souls. It is rooted in Biblical truth. I love how it is filled with true stories of other people walking this path of healing - both for the encouragement the stories provide, and to help ground me in the nuts and bolts of this exercise.And don’t be afraid of this! It might sound like it is way off the deep end, but the author is merely giving you the questions you might not have thought to ask God as you seek healing and wholeness. In addition, he is teaching you how to listen to God, which is a crucial skill if you want a true relationship with him. Also, this book is for anyone. You don’t have to have any special training to lead yourself or someone else into God’s presence, because that is what God wants for us and he is the ultimate teacher and leader! The author even provides a “troubleshooting” section for those who find a two-way conversation with God to be difficult.Please, if you desire sanctification and wholeness in your life, give this book a chance and see how God works in you like he worked and is working in me!

It will change your life

I really like that this book contains questions at the end of each chapter to assess your spiritual life with Christ. The chapters nicely guides individuals through answering both simple and difficult questions to better understand his or her struggles. This book is an excellent guide for both individuals and small fellowship groups to complete and go over the questions and improve your communication skills with Christ.However, I feel that this book is best used in a group setting, with at least one close friend who understands you well. That individual can help provide words of encouragement and help you stay accountable to completing the tasks at the end of each chapter.My only complaint is that there are some tables in this book that are difficult to read even when enlarged to fill the whole screen (such as the emotional wounds picture in Appendix C). Due to this small problem, I had some trouble trying to fully comprehend one or two questions within this book which required the image to better answer.Overall, this book has a nice structure and provides thought-provoking questions which I fell has challenged myself to improve my walk with Christ. This is an excellent self-help resource for Christians who want to improve their spiritual life with Christ.

This book is one of the best books and at a great price!

Still reading through it. Great detail regarding what a journey of healing can look like by seeking the Lord and what He has to say (as opposed to taking everyone else's advice and trying to convince yourself through their words that you are good enough). I recommend this book to anyone who recognizes they are wounded or find they have a reaction-- either within themselves or in an aggressive way--to certain people, situations, expressed opinions, etc. Those are signs of God trying to get your attention! He wants to heal/address those things. This book will help you through that process. Get a mentor-- let someone into your life and meet with them to share what you are learning and discovering as well as any areas you might need a little more help with.

This truly is a guide for Inner Healing prayer. After taking a class on the subject, I wanted to go deeper. In my research, I came across this book. Phenomenal resource on the subject. Totally walks you through the process. I’ve already ordered four more copies to share with others.Going through the book has been transforming to my life!

Wonderful book for finding inner healing or for ministering to others to find inner healing. There are so many how to's in this book that anyone can learn how to hear the Lord speak to them in the depths of their soul. I absolutely recommend this book

I was happy to receive the book in excellent condition and was a very good addition in study for small groups. Very important to go through slowly and not rush through.
