These seem to be higher quality than the 3rd party ones you can find at a lower price. These are thicker (which means they'll last longer) and the blue filter keeps out dust that can contribute to mold growth. A tip for anyone encountering mold growth, run the humidifier until all of the water is empty. Do not let water sit without the fan running. The constant evaporation makes it difficult for mold to grow. Also toss them when they are crusty and discolored. That's the deposits from your tap water and those won't hold water so the wick becomes less and less effective over time. I never clean my wicks, I just observe how much water is left in the tank each day when I fill it up. A fresh filter will easily drain the tank in about 8-12 hours. An ok filter will drain it in 24 hours. A bad filter drains it in 48 hours. I use an bacteriostatic in the water tank to help prevent any growth. I also clean out any accumulated dust about once a week. I recently got an RO water filter which will definitely help prolong the wick.

The fit is perfect. These wicks last at least a month or more, they raise the dry air level on the hygrometer, and it's Great for allergies, etc.

If you have any humidifier that utilizes a filter it is essential to replace it regularly for continued proper functioning. While you could use it without a filter, there is a reason they have filters and that is to improve the quality of the air being circulated in your room. Nearly a year ago I bought a black Honeywell HCM-350 unit on Amazon. After about a month of nightly (8-12 hours) use on the highest setting I noticed a slightly different smell in my room (not bad, just different) and noticed that the water reservoir was not emptying as rapidly as it had initially. This was because the filter was in need if replacement. Over the month of use the filter hardened up and was discolored. As a result, less water was able to pass through the filter meaning less moisture was being pumped into my air, and presumably the air that was getting out was not as clean as it could be. Replacement is incredibly simple and after the first night I noticed an immediate improvement in the functionality of my humidifier. The water reservoir was significantly lower and my room smelled a bit fresher as well. In my opinion, if you are buying a humidifier unit like these that utilize a filter then you really should be prepared to regularly replace the filter. I know it can be a bit off putting to spend $10 every month but it is worth it. There are lower quality humidifiers available on Amazon and elsewhere that do not use filters, so you may consider those for a cheaper option. But if you want to step up to slightly higher quality or if you are very sensitive to air quality then you should be prepared to change the filter AT LEAST every month, maybe even more frequently if you are very sensitive.

These filters last around 6-7 weeks when used continuously during the winter months, which seems reasonable for something that's continuously wet. I combine with a Protec humidifier cleaning fish in the water tank. TIP to save money and time: if you have municipal water, use regular city tap water to make the filters last longer. I used filtered water for years before randomly simplifying to tap water, so the longevity increase was a nice surprise. An educated guess as to why: the city water treatment of chloramines and/or chlorine likely inhibits mold and bacteria growth. That won't significantly affect air quality because chloramines don't evaporate at all, and chlorine at such low concentrations is ephemeral. Save the filtered water for drinking.

I accidentally started the year with a cheap one and it lasted 3 weeks. We have purchased several of these over the years. We actually flip and clean them every week by scrubbing the calcium deposits off with our rough gloves while running water over them, then flipping it and going again. They last a year if we do the weekly cleaning and flip. We have a water softener, but a high particulate count. They fit well and keep standing. They do not turn orange like the cheap ones. Sometimes you get what you pay for.

One of the higher priced choices for evaporator pads. Evaporates significantly more moisture into the air compared to other pads. No waking with dry mouth. Longer life regarding mineral buildup. Worth the higher price.

It's pretty much the same, but thanks to the blue part, it seems to stay wet for much longer: the original one used to get dry quickly, and I had to get it wet again like once a week. Other than that seems to be the same.

they are made well and last about two to three months with regular washing and flipping them every few days. after two months they tend to get badly stained due to calcium and lime in the water and if the city water is hard. by the third month they begin falling apart and need replacing. three filters will get me through a long winter and jkeep my home at 43% Rh

Work just as well as original wicking filters but much cheaper!!
