Tells me my rpm and hours accurately

I bought it for the hour function so I can track time for oil changes on my dirtbike as my ride times very. The time function seems to work fine but it wasn't showing my RPM's which might have been a failure on my part with installation but I don't really care about the RPMs anyways.

The unit instructions are okay. I elected to put mine on a spark plug, and it says you can wind it around there 4 turns, but if low reading, do this; if high reading do that. Well, I bought it to show me the actual RPMs, not have me validate what I don't know. So I returned it and bought a non-contact laser for additonal money.Pro: easy to install, comes with a battery, and looks like it will work for years. It appears to be well made, good quality.Con: You had to figure out the right number of windings, when I just wanted an independent reading.As a nit: had a little bit of a challenge to move the settings to RPM. Then the value was almost 1/2 of what I thought. Might have been able to change the number of winds, but I'd still be guessing. Also would have liked to have had a longer cable, so I could see it on the dash - wasn't long enough, but likely depends on where your going to put it.The other device I bought - validated that my tach was actually correct. So, this unit on a 4 stroke V8 was reading about 1/2. But it could be a configuration error on my part.I already have a tach, just wanted to verify it. If one didn't have a tach, this is also an hour meter and reminder, and it might just be perfect for someone else.

Works as it should, make sure wire is tight and secure. Like the hour meter to keep an eye on break in time and maintenance.

Habe gerade den Vergaser meiner alten Stihl026 damit eingestellt. Einfach super, reagiert zwar etwas träge, aber bevor ich 90€ ausgebe, Fummel ich lieber 5min länger.

I mounted it on a dirt bike with double-sticky molding tape. Quick and easy. Just wrap the sensor wire around a high tension plug lead, give it power and you are done.
