Beautiful Pen.
The pen is an upgraded version of the Makrolon Lamy 2000. The weight is well distributed and substantial; compared to the original 2000. I understand this pen design was discontinued, it is a shame; especially, considering the quality, the design (natural vs. synthetic materials) and the beautiful texture of the blackwood. It is, absolutely worth the price. In doubt, I suggest to buy it.

You feel the quality of this pen right away!
I’ve purchased three Lamy 2000 multicolor pens. (One lost, two had mechanical issues). I really enjoy using the Lamy 2000 multicolor pen for note taking, however, it’s a complicated design with flaws and I had to think hard about buying it for a fourth time. Because I have the entire Lamy 2000 line, I wanted to have the click pen in the collection, therefore, I’m giving the Lamy 2000 Ballpoint Pen Blackwood a shot and so far I will say that I’m impressed with the quality and workmanship of this pen. Though I lack the versatility of a multicolor pen, I cannot continue to invest on another Lamy 2000 multicolor pen due to its weak points, mainly the screw sections with the threads breaking easily and the piston locking up all the time.

Excellent pen
LAMY Blackwood has been my favorite pen for over 10 years. Each pen has its own character and the wood will actually change a little over time. I have carried a blackwood daily. I like the pen so much that I purchased one for my son when he got a promotion at work. Very durable wood pen. I have had some trouble with the pocket clip on one of my pens, but they have repaired it for free both times that I returned it to them. And to keep that comment in perspective, that is two times in over ten years.

Lamy 2000 ballpoint (Taxus)
I really appreciate this natural wood version of the iconic Lamy 2000 ballpoint pen. It is warm in the hand and so comfortable to write with. If Lamy made other versions (FR, RB, MP, multi-pen) of the 2000 in Taxus & Blackwood I would demand that Lamy would take my money immediately so that I could have them all. I’m a fan 😊

Overall a decent and well-made pen
The pen construction is solid and the retraction mechanism feels well-made. There was some gunk in the screw threads of the tip which unscrews to reveal the refill, which I spent some time wiping off with a piece of tissue paper. The refill writes quite decently but the line is not as dark as most Japanese ballpoint pen refills. Overall, a decent purchase which I hope will last me a lifetime. Update: I recommend the LAMY fine blue refill over the default LAMY medium black refill, as the former writes more smoothly and satisfyingly.

Didn't like this pen.
I have found this pen to be bulky, heavy, and to make matters worse, the clip has sharp edges. I bought this pen because of all the great reviews, but having had the pen for several months I do not concur.

NICE PEN - UNBELIEVABLE AFTER SALES SERVICE
I bought a Lamy 2000 in a pen shop in Vietnam. For me, it is a good pen, I had the pen for 6 years now; two years ago, one day somehow the clip becoming unscrewed and fell on the floor, I found the clip but there was a tiny spring lightly embedded inside the clip missing. I took a photo of the clip without tiny spring, attached the photo to an email sending to Lamy in Germany. Lamy replied the next day and asked for my address, they informed me that they will send the spring without charge; within a week tiny spring arrived in my mail in Australia. That's the level of service you will receive from Lamy.

A very different take on the iconic Lamy 2000
If you’re expecting a wooden version of the Lamy 2000, you’ll be disappointed: it’s wood, alright, but over a brass body with a palladium finish that ends up feeling more like the equality iconic Lamy Studio in terms of balance.
