How easily does the fold down function work?

It looks like the latest iteration of the product (Sep, 2020) no longer offers the fold down feature.

Is the hitch tightener required? I don’t mind the movement of the rack but I do mind installing and uninstalling the hitch tightener.

I would not say it's required, but I would highly recommend using it to keep everything snug and solid. Simply carry a 3/4" wrench or socket and ratchet. It is easy to install and uninstall.

my bike has 1.85" wide tires, will they fit ?

Yes!!! The inside dimension between the wheel bracket is 2 5/8", so your bike will fit.

Will this work with a 29” full suspension? Length I guess the main concern.

Yea, really wonder why it says 20 - 26 inch wheels in the description. No reason larger wheels would not work.
