I have to wire an 120v. Exhaust fan motor but my control is 12v. Can this relay handle it

This class of relays were designed to do that. Do note that this is designed for DC not AC. It will probably actuate on AC, but may run hotter and fail earlier because of the heat. The 10 amp rating will just support the starting current for a 1 HP motor. Recommended limit would be 1/2 HP or less. In motor starting applications the relay will arc at the points and eventually fail. The plug in configuration makes replacing the relay a momentary task, rather than a 30 minute chore! Buy a spare. I have used a pair of these on two 3/4 HP water pumps for 30 years & replace a relay about every 5 years.

can you add a diode to the 12VDC?

If you use a silicon diode, you will drop .6 or so volts. If you are switching the 12v across the contacts, and need the voltage to power something, use a Schottky diode that drops about .2 volts forward conduction. Your question is very vague, next time ask something more specific

Would these contacts handle 15a at 12vdc?

Sorry, sir. The answer is no. This 8 Pin 10A Coil Electromagnetic Relay can only bear maximum 10A at 12vdc. Hope it can help you!

I know it’s 24vac but what is the VA draw for the contractor. Having issues with transformers need to know the stats on this.

Ok I use it for backup power for my CPAP machine. Running 12 csc to the machine prime and backup. The coil for the us is 120 vac. I have s second relay for the Philippines same set up but 220 ac coil. If I loose ac voltage the relay switches to the battery back up and feeds the CPAP machine.
