Gets the job done
I used this to drill 60 fence post holes, which was still hard work but less effort compared to manually digging with post hole diggers and way less time involved. The unit might not last through 600 holes as it is less durable than more expensive models. However, if like most people you will need this only a few times in your life, this will certainly get the job done and for much less cost than a bigger name brand.

Easy to assemble, start and use
Easy to assemble, started right up, and worked like a charm. I dug 45 tomato holes in half an hour. It uses a 30:1 oil to gas mixture, which is a bit unusual, but other than that it's perfect. Note that because there is a centrifugal clutch, the auger can start spinning as soon as it starts. It will stop when warm and idling, but when starting it can cause the auger to get a bit squirrely. Wear good boots and grab it firmly! In clay make sure to lower the auger slowly, don't let it just chow it's way into the dirt, it will get wedged in the hole (don't ask me how I know). Just lower it slowly and it works perfectly.

The best overall for the price point.
Great auger for the price. Worked just liked advertised. The only reason it got 4 out 5 stars is because the throttle handle can never really be tightened and ends up breaking on the bottom half. I tightened it up accordingly and it still happened. After reading several reviews on this product, I read that many others had the same issue, but were also pleased for the price. I ended up using gorilla tape and zip ties to secure it and it worked great. If you arenโt a professional and just a DIY person then this thing is legit. Just be ready to secure the throttle handle. The cost for a one day rental for an auger was $89 dollars. For 2 days I own one now that I can lend out to friends and know I got my money out of it and some.

So far so good
I've used it for about 3 hours now. Works well. plastic handle is a little cheap, various types of tips would be helpful for different soils.

Not well made
The unit did start quickly but has little to no power. I let it warm up for several minutes that started a practice hole in very soft ground. It dug in for about two feet and then slowed down. I tried upping the amount of gas and suddenly the plastic wrapper around the trigger broke. Screws fell out. the fitting on the plastic were cracked and couldn't hold the screws anymore.

Great auger
Great auger for the price. We use it all the time on our homestead which has clay ground.

Broke on the 2nd use, but customer service was good
We decided to buy an auger instead of renting to do our fence because we are doing it in sections, so it was actually cheaper to go this route. It worked great on the first and longest section of fencing, it did take 2 people at times because where we live we have clay starting about 12-18inches down, but the motor did great. However, on our 2nd section, 2nd hole in, the bit hit a rock and the auger jerked out of my husbands hand and the throttle handle hold snapped in half. We ended up having to rent an auger to complete that section because it was a shared fence with our neighbors and they have dogs that they didnt want to have to leave on the chain for too long. I emailed the company and they are supposedly sending a replacement, but its been 3 days and I have yet to receive a tracking number, so we will see. I'll update my review when/if we get the replacement.

Life changing
I purchased this to dig postholes for 4 x 4s for fencing. I took delivery in January while the ground was frozen, and so didn't get to digging holes until April. I had only partially unpacked the unit, and so had mislaid parts over the winter; prompt, effective help from customer support got me up and running quickly. I've dug postholes by hand before, and so when I found myself looking into perfect 8" holes in the ground that took two minutes each to auger out, I was very pleased. When I divide the price of the auger by the number of holes I need, it was well worth the cost. I'm now looking for other projects I can use it for (planting bushes maybe?)

Served it purpose, worked good.
I did have the throttle stick a couple times causing a couple cuts and bruises, but the auger performed well, didnโt bog down ever, almost had too much power for the size. Iโm Happy with the purchase overall.

Dangerous
No killswitch, no safety lanyard, the controls freely rotate. Great tool to make you slip a disc and go to the hospital, terrible at being an auger.
