Maintenance Spike.

These folks at Lutz must love palms. Just compare the ingredients in these spikes against any of the home store commercial spikes, i.e.. Jobes, Miracle Grow, etc. They fall short to the quantity and quality of Lutz.And the best part about Lutz is that they sell in bulk. When you buy the case of 120 spikes, the cost of each spike is less than a buck. Even with shipping costs. The 5 packs sold in the home stores are anywhere from $8-10 bucks, so the cost of each spike is higher than Lutz, and less quality.I have 8 large Queen palms (12 years old), 2 Mediterranean fans, 3 Mexican fans, 2 Windmill palms, 2 Pindo palms, and 2 Sago. I fertilize twice a year with these spikes hammered in right under the drip stakes and even in this harsh Souther Arizona climate and soil conditions, they all look great. Even after the last unseasonal winter frost this year, they all bounced back with tropical vigor. It is no wonder that professional palm growers from Tampa would sell the best fertilizer spikes. Highly recommended for your palms to look their best.

I have been using these spikes for several years with excellent results. I have about 30 palms (various Trachycarpus, Chamaerops humilis, Butia capitata, Brahea moorei and Sabal minor) in the ground in Portland, Oregon. Our climate is challenging for palm growing in the best of times, so it is satisfying that I have not observed any nutritional deficiencies and the growth is generally reasonably fast. The spikes are fairly pricy, so I only use them once a year in the spring and supplement with regular fertilizer in the summer. Still, I go through a lot of them. Good stuff.Note: I buy the big case and move them immediately into smaller zip-lock bags. If they get moist they fall apart and become impossible to pound into the ground.

pretty close to all you need for queen palms, just a bit pricey for the average home gardener

I've used these spikes last spring and this fall. My 7 queen palms in California finally look great. They no longer have the yellow color and brown fringes. I previously used the granular stuff and the palms just never looked as good as they should. (Maybe my application method, quantity, frequency were at fault). Lutz spikes are much more manageable. Also, if you've ever pounded in tree spikes, you will realize that the spike installer tool Lutz sells is hugely helpful. I don't remember if I ordered that from Amazon or directly from Lutz Corp. It's heavy & freight was expensive, but totally worth it.

Have used these spikes for 20 years. Love them. I also purchased the planter tool years ago from Lutz. So easy, no weight and keeps my many palms happy!

This is the best product on the market to help maintain palms. It will help your palms maintain the green fronds and eliminate the yellowing of the fronds. It's best to buy in bulk because cost is not effective when buying pack of 4-5 from a local store.

We have been using Lutz Maintenance spikes along with the manganese, magnesium and potassium spikes for many, many years. With 36 palm trees to maintain we found these spikes are the best!

It's a bit early for a full review, but the trees are starting to look a little better already.
