I've had great luck with Eaton UPS units - This one is no different. The best part about the Eatons is no special UPS software, like that terrible APC Bulldog software. You just plug it in with USB, and it uses the Windows UPS management, just like it should. That right there makes me prefer Eaton over any other consumer grade UPS.

They didn't make it easy to get it started - the cord by the battery (inside) is juuuuust long enough to work. Hard to open and close. Hope it works! It's larger than we thought - about the size of a flat shoe box.

UPS has no fan (it's silent), plenty of outlets, a user replaceable battery, looks nice, and most importantly (for me), works great with NUT (Network UPS Tools) under Linux. I'm using the 750VA model to power a Linux-based AMD Athlon firewall/gateway/server, 802.11n Wi-Fi access point, gigabit desktop switch, and an ADSL2+ modem -- total runtime on a fully charged battery is approximately 40 minutes.

I've had four different sizes of Eaton Uninterrupted Power Supplies for many years and they have reliably come to my rescue on several occasions. On top of that, Eaton stands behind their products. I had a UPS go out a few years back. I contacted Eaton and before I knew what was going on they had a new power backup system en route to my house. On top of that, it had more capacity than my original. Who else does that? I can't recommend this company enough.

Had it for three months, it suddenly shut off and gave a solid red warning light and tone. I disconnected all devices and reconnected the battery to "reset" it and the red warning light just comes on and no power. Only have about 50 watts total connected to it, so load was not the problem.

We use these Eatons at work, and I was pretty impressed with their performance. Decided to buy one for myself and I'm quite happy with it so far. Simple and reliable, no LCD screens or anything fancy. Only complaint is the software, I'd highly recommend not bothering with it. It's hard to find, very dated and kind of glitchy. The built in Windows UPS feature works much better, and works without installing anything. The only thing the software is good for is enabling that automatic power saving feature, but at least for me, it didn't work well on any of the sensitivity settings. I've heard these are now being discontinued, which is a shame. Hopefully whatever Eaton replaces it with will be just as reliable.
