Daytona Helmets Half Skull Cap Motorcycle Helmet DOT Approved [Carbon Fiber]

I love the helmet overall. By far the smallest DOT approved CF helmet I’ve found. The only challenge is that I have a definite oval shaped head and this helmet is a bit too round for me, but I was able to make it work. I do have to cinch it down pretty good if I go on the freeway or it gets pushed to the back of my head.

This is NOT a low-profile design. Perhaps the mushroom effect was accentuated because the XL helmet I ordered only barely fit on my melon after forcing it down, but nevertheless it looked ridiculous on my head. As alluded to, the size/fit guide is also horribly inaccurate. My head circumference was right in between L and XL so I ordered the larger size — and it fit tighter than a Britney Spears miniskirt. I'm sending this back, and looking at a MicroDOT helmet instead.

Straight outta the box ••• Perfect !!! Light weight •• Total Visibility •• Excellent manufacturing •• extra's in the box •• string carrying bag •• Perforated rag for head and lining inside helmet. Haven't even got on bike yet, just sitting around on porch.... Can't get over how light this helmet is !!Extremely small Con / Needs to be wore and broke in ..snug at or just above ears. Glad I used Sewing Tape Measure to measure my head before buying, never the less-- sure it will loosen some and break in -in no time at all.UPDATE : After several hours of riding , very impressed!! Visibility and comfort are King •• the light weight made all the difference•• Only draw back , after close inspection.. The foam inside is not cut as well as I'd like •• dimensions of foam cut , do not look universal however, this is NOT a deal changer and very pleased with purchase.

The helmet itself is of great quality and construction. Looks great and if proper size would be great all around. That's were the issues start. We all know that just setting a helmet on you head is not always the best way to fully determine a good fit. So I strapped it on and took it for a ride and discovered that although the I felt it was good it was just a bit too loose in the wind. So I call to see if I could return it for a smaller size. I told them what my issue was (being honest) and was told since I wore it on a ride I could not return the helmet. I should just sell it as a used helmet and buy another. We know I would get pennies on the dollar and they sell another helmet. The three stars are for what I feel is poor customer service not the helmet.

Great helmet,I wear it because it was light and did not bother me,I still felt free on the road. It paid off. I had a box van cut me off on a highway. I chose the ditch over the van.I am sitting on my couch now with a steel plate piecing my broke collar bone together and multiple broke ribs, my head hit the ground hard twice my helmet did it's job I never lost consciousness not one stitch in my head and I walked to the ambulance when it arrived.Thanks to my God and a helmet I get to write a review.I will own a new one as soon as I am ready to ride again.

Man I simply love my Daytona shorty. Been riding for better then 45 years. Hate the "hats" that obscure my side vision, block my hearing, and most of all turn with the vast majority of "hats" after an hour of so they felt like my freaking head was in an oven.This carbon fibre shorty is very light, hardly notice it, no ear blocks. no freaking oven head, and I keep my side vision.Sure a half or full face "hat" will provide more safety for the head, but I feel they will contribute to an accident in and of themselves.Also got another for the wife, she loves hers as well......Thanks,Doom

This helmet did not fit at recommended size, you would need to at the least order the next size bigger. This helmet definitely had the mushroom appearance when worn!!!

I needed a 4XL helmet as I have really big hair. I only purchased this helmet because it said 4XL helmet both inside tge helmet as well as amazon where I purchased it from. Although it says 4XL properly fits my 8 year old son without sliding around. I knew this helmet was too small before I even got it out tge box. At this point I am furious. I feel as if Daytona did this on purpose to sell more helmets. I want my money back.
