Awesome wedge!
I do about 95% of my shopping on Amazon, and so I really don't have the time to write a review for every single purchase I make. However, I felt the need to review this particular product. I am a chronic snorer (much to my new hubby's dismay), and I suffer from allergies and sinusitis. I mean, I can REALLY snore! I always hate when we go to stay at our families' homes for the holidays, because my snoring disturbs EVERYONE. I have tried everything from nasal sprays, strips, pills, you name it, I've tried it (in desperation) and I'm currently using a "mouth-guard" designed to help ease snoring (which, I've been told by hubby, works okay but not enough. lol) I've been told that when I lay on my back, it's the worst. Funny thing is, when I sleep upright (in a car, or in a chair) I don't make a peep. When I saw this product, I decided to try it. While it's only after the first night, I think I've found a winner. My hubby says that I didn't make a sound at all. And HE got a good night's sleep as well as I! When my husband got up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, he said I was sleeping like a baby. On my back. And NOT making a sound! He said I was so quiet, that he became alarmed thinking I had just stopped breathing. The wedge came very quickly (I have the Amazon Prime shipping), and it came in a very tightly rolled up bundle. It didn't take but an hour to completely expand, and it is very comfortable. The only issue was that I did slide down on it a few times, but nothing major. I also have to say that I'm a side sleeper and this pillow, along with my other regular pillow, didn't seem too comfortable on my side. I started out on my side, but then laid on my back the rest of the night. I slept very well, no head-aches from having had my face buried in the mattress from sleeping on my side. So far, so good. I know it's reviewing after only one night, but hey! if it works, it works! I will add an update in about a week, time will tell the truth. Update on my above review...I have been using this wedge for 3 nights now, and my hubby says still no snoring at all from me.I know that I said I'd wait a week before adding an up-date, but honestly, THREE nights in a row without a peep from me is unreal!! In fact, I wake up pretty refreshed, and so now my hubby wants one for himself! I just ordered one for him, and I am sure we both will FINALLY get a good night's sleep! I would highly recommend this wedge if you are a snorer and who disturbs others with the noise. I am, for one, thrilled that for 30 bucks each, I've found an answer to stop my snoring!!!!! Update 08/29/13 I've been using this every night since I've gotten it, and it still works like a charm as far as cutting out the snoring. I recently went on a 3-day weekend getaway, and I took this wedge with me. It was a little embarrassing to drag this wedge in a posh hotel, but I could not get it to roll up or fold to fit inside anything, so I just put it in a plastic garbage bag. I will add, though, a few days ago, I had a bad sinus infection and I did snore according to my hubby, but he said even then, it wasn't so bad to disturb him. Hallelujah! I love this wedge and what it has done for my snoring problem! I hope it works as well for others who have this problem, all I can say it works wonders for me!

Natural Feeling of Comfort
This is the first wedge pillow that I have ever bought. I read all the reviews for this one and the others on Amazon and agonized. I ran around the bedroom wth a tape measure to visualize the sizes of the different brands, I finally picked this one because it was one piece and wide enough for my shoulders. The thought of the memory foam also appealed to me. After I placed my order I had second thoughts about whether seven inches would be high enough, but the item was in shipping, already. So it came, and thank goodness someone had mentioned that it is very flat at first. As promised, a few hours later it magically had expanded. And NO FUMES! The two nights that I have had it were FANTASTIC. 7 inches plus my pillow are the perfect height for someone who needs a little lift without the feeling of trying to fall asleep sitting up. The foam is neither soft nor hard. I am 5'10" and it is a good length for me. It does not squish down when you lie on it. Very comfortable. I even like the pillowcase! I also have no trouble with my cpap hose . I had no aches or pains adjusting to this new pillow. And seven inches is just right! UPDATE: It has been over a month since I posted my review. I just want to add that I still love this pillow! I have added a medium to small size down pillow under my knees, and it is heavenly! It keeps me right in place in the bed.

Elevation after surgery - works great, comfortable, but a bit warm
I purchased two of these wedge pillows - both the 7" and 12" height - in preparation for having my tonsils out. I was supposed to sleep at a 45 degree angle for 2 weeks afterwards to avoid bleeding. I first purchased the 12" height (to get the correct angle), but after reading the reviews about being "too high", I also purchased this 7" version. Let me tell you, I'm glad that I purchased both. Both were made by the same company with the same nice, white, comfy, stretchy cover. I liked the memory foam. I used my normal pillow on top of the wedge. I liked the 12" height for the nights when I needed extra elevation - when my head, ears and throat were throbbing with pain. Keeping my head elevated that much farther above my heart helped the situation. I liked the 7" height for nights when I didn't have that much of a problem, I just needed some elevation to keep my heart lower than my throat to avoid any excessive bleeding. Yeah, I slid down during the nights - not a fault of the pillow - I would just wake up and scoot myself back up so my butt was close to the beginning of the wedge. I am a side sleeper to boot (I had a rough time with all of this) - side is the only real way I can sleep, and I previously had obstructive sleep apnea - the reason for removing my tonsils to begin with - and I had a fear of sleeping on my back because I would wake up gasping for air within minutes after falling asleep. Not fun. So, I was able to arrange myself somewhat comfortably for side sleeping on BOTH heights of this pillow. Once again, I had my normal pillow on top of the wedge pillow as well. The only thing I didn't like is that memory foam seems to hold heat. I have a normal (non memory foam) mattress, and I would wake up throughout the night with temperature issues - thinking I was too hot I would kick off the comforter, only seconds later to pull it back over my legs. The warmth coming from the wedge was pretty noticeable to me, but not enough of a bother to wish I didn't purchase these wedges. (I'm not overweight, and I'm usually cold, but I was still surprised by the heat I felt). Overall these pillows were much more comfortable than I had expected, they worked great for my purposes, and they appear to be well made and something I'll hang onto for a long time in case I need them in the future. I would purchase this same pillow for a family member or friend if they needed the elevation at night.

Wonderful Product if You Snore
I bought this as a last hope to stop my snoring. I am a tongue snorer which means when I fall asleep my tongue partially blocks my airway causing serious snoring problems and interrupted sleep. I've tried nasal expanders, mouth tape, spray, tongue holders and nothing worked or it was too painful. I use a snoring app on my phone to monitor my snoring and it was embarrassing to listen to. I couldn't believe it when my snoring went from 90% Loud all night to 8% Mild after the first night of using this pillow. It is my new best friend. There was some odor when I unwrapped it so I sprayed it all over with Zero Odor Zero Odor Multi-Purpose Household Odor Eliminator, Trigger Spray, 16-ounces and 2 hours later when the pillow had expanded there was no odor. I also bought the pillowcase and it was worth the investment. InteVision 400 Thread Count, 100% Egyptian Cotton Pillowcase. Designed to Fit the 7.5" version of the InteVision Foam Wedge Bed Pillow (26" x 25" x 7.5") I have a bad neck so I put my neck pillow Sleep Innovations Contour Memory Foam Pillow, Standard Size at the top of this wedge and it works perfectly. I did have some problems sliding down in the night and a regular pillow under my legs didn't help so I purchase the Intevision Support Pillow for under my knees as others suggested and it is wonderful InteVision Four Position Support Pillow (20.5" x 8" x 4.5") with 400 Thread Count, 100% Egyptain Cotton Cover I normally get very hot when I sleep but this wedge did not cause that problem to increase. I was worried that the 7" wouldn't be high enough for my snoring problem but it is perfect. It might not work for you but for me the wedge, pillowcase, and knee support have me sleeping all night long again and waking up without a sore throat and dry mouth.

It's Okay
First I will tell you that ultimately, I returned this item. The quality was superb though. Very nice soft memory foam over a sturdy foam base meant comfort without sacrificing support. And the cover it comes with is very nice quality. I bought this because after sending me to a sleep study, my Dr. recommended I try sleeping at an angle... but this was too steep an for me. I enjoyed it more with a pillow behind my head as a prop to watch TV. When I tried to sleep on it, I'd wind up sliding down the bed and waking up with my feet hanging off the end of the mattress and my head resting on the bed with no pillow! This would usually result in a neck cramp as I'd have no pillow supporting my head. Also, side sleeping was not an option at this steep angle and I tend to change positions often in the night. So I decided to make my husband to use it because he's recently started snoring. Not sure what's up with that! After 7 years together, BANG... I have a snorer on my hands! But it worked great for that. He stopped snoring and didn't slide off it but he too complained that it was a little too steep an angle and didn't offer a restful nights sleep. In the end, we returned this product and bought a discounted floor model TemurPedic adjustable bed frame from Mattress Firm. It was honestly one of the best things we have done. Our friends and family made fun of us for buying a 'hospital' bed at 28 & 32 years old, but every single person who teased us, I forced to lay on our new bed and would adjust it to A) watch TV or read... B) Zero gravity position, which is optimal for sleep and comfort as it opens airwaves and relieves pressure on your back and organs and C) the ever so slightly elevated head position my husband and I now sleep in. Every single one of them left my bedroom jealous. I sold them ALL on adjustable bed frames. LOL We are loving the exact customization it offers and have zero complaints. We're sleeping like babies... but I realize everyone can't afford to do that and I am also slightly off topic. So in summery, my opinion of this product is that it is high quality, comfortable and offers support... but at 7.5 inches, it is too tall for both a 5'2" woman and a 6' tall man to sleep comfortably on. I'd suggest getting a 5" tall wedge if you intend to use this for sleeping.

7.5" feels a taller than it looks
Looks can be deceiving. I admit that when I received this product (7.5" tall) I was initially disappointed looking at it while waiting for it to expand and to be ready for use. I could pinch the foam easily to compress it and I immediately decided this wasn't going to work or be useful before i'd even tried it. I ordered the 12" tall one that night and considered returning this one. However, I changed my mind and thought maybe i'll still get some use out of it while waiting for the 12" one. My first night sleeping on the 7.5" was quite a surprise. I thought it was just going to cave in when i laid down on it but it was quite supportive. It's at a height that you could decide to use a pillow if you wanted to, or if you prefer laying flat on your back, using only the wedge props you up while still keeping that feeling of your shoulders back and neck laying straight. This is the first wedge I've purchased so I can't compare how the memory foam layer stacked up to other products but it does seem to add a touch of comfort. The 7.5" version can be a little awkward at first for side sleepers, but if you use a pillow you can still have a bit of elevation and support for your head. Laying on your side does concentrate more of your weight in a smaller area though and will compress the wedge slightly more. for a 140lb person: PROS: - Takes up only your side of the bed in a queen size mattress. - Plenty wide. I almost feel like a child on an adult size pillow. - The primary foam is not super stiff, but it does compress down when laid on like I thought it would. - it is still comfortable to use a pillow in addition to the wedge - It helps with my sinuses and breathing (though 12" wedge is better for severe congestion condition) - Keeps me plenty elevated while still mostly feeling like i'm laying on my back CONS: - The product description/images and break-apart are a little misleading. It works just like it says, but doesn't exactly look like the images. - If you are sick and very congested and you find that standing and sitting upright you don't have issues, you should look to the 12" tall wedge for sleeping support. I do have both wedges and when I was sick the 7.5" wedge was just not tall enough to keep me from choking on congestion.

Lifesaver - snoring and pregnant!
I initially bought this because my snoring is so bad that it keeps my husband up at night. IT TOOK A FEW DAYS TO GET USED TO THE SHAPE. I thought I didn't like it at first....keep trying. You get used to it & it actually helps a lot. It did not completely stop my snoring, but helped so much that I would say it's worth a shot. Shortly after I got this, I found out I was pregnant & was dealing with a blocked nose/heartburn...the whole deal. I'm so glad I had this pillow already, it's helped so much! Two things I didn't like: - When I took the pillow out of the packaging, the smell was terrible!!! It had to off gas for quite a while, with an air purifier in the room to help the smell. - I don't care for the little pillow that comes with it, I just use my regular memory foam pillow on top of the wedge pillow & that works well.

Good Support; No Smell
Because I have reflux, I have been sleeping on bed wedges for a long time. I bought this one to use while visiting my son, anticipating at least a month stay, as a better solution than making wedges using spare pillows and blankets. The wedge comes as a roll wrapped in heavy clear plastic. However, when you remove the plastic you can see it begin to enlarge and take shape. After an hour, it was pretty much ready for use. Based on what I read in some of the reviews I was expecting an odor. But even though I made a serious effort to smell something, I found nothing to smell. Perhaps my sense of smell is not as acute as the few who mentioned an odor. The wedge that I have at home is higher than this one, and I think more height than the 7.5" works better for me. But this is not a serious problem since I was easily able to heighten the top and increase the slope by putting a rolled towel under the back bottom part of the wedge so that it raises it about 2" and tilts it a bit. This works well for me. One of the complaints about many wedges is how hard they are. But thanks to the layer of soft foam covering the harder foam, there should be no such complaint about this wedge. The wedge comes with a fitted cover that can be removed for washing by unzipping it. I recommend this wedge without reservation. In fact, I will be ordering another one to replace the wedge that I have at home. I find this one to be more comfortable.
