TruGlo Pistol Optic, Glow in the Dark Green/White Dot Sight for Smith & Wesson M&P Series Pistols, Tritium

If you are like me and felt the factory sights on the Shield lacked these are the sights for you. I own several pews and have replaced every factory sight to a high quality night sight or fiber optic. That was the case except for the Shield. I mostly left it alone because overall they weren't terrible. I didn't want to spend over $100 on sights just for a "small" upgrade. These TruGlo's are very well priced so I bit the "bullet" and bought them. As soon as I opened the package I was very pleased with the quality. High quality steel sights with a bright tritium tube surrounded by a white ring. The green tritium provide self illumination for low light environments, and the white rings provide the classic 3 dot sight you're used to in the day light. Removing the factory sights are a chore and would suggest it being done by an armorer (which I am). Installing these are easily done, and will leave no visible installation marks if the proper pusher tool is used. Using a punch will get it done but you risk breaking the glass tubes that hold the Tritium gasses. Nonetheless, these are great sights for a really good price. STRONGLY suggest these TruGlo's for your M&P handPews.

I got and install it on my SD9VE. It really upgraded my gun. The look of the rear sight and the glowing in the dark. Gives new perspective for my home defense weapon. This is made of metals and not plastics as the original sight were. A must upgrade if you own an SD9VE and use your weapon or might use it for your defense at night. You can really see the difference between the old non glow sights to the Truglo night sights. And YES it fits the S&W SD9VE even as the company says its not design for it. Just make sure you have the proper tools to install this and not using Hammer and punch rod. Now I have not used my weapon yet for that I will have an update see how the reliability and durability. Let see how long it last through the rigors and punishment of shooting the weapon.

I installed these on my S&W Shield to replace the factory sights. Installation was simple and straightforward. I have installed quite a few sights and also have the sight installation tool which makes the job much easier. Economically, I am quite happy with the way they look and fit. You really cannot tell the difference between these sight on the original one that came with the Shield. I have included a photo of the sights. Not easy to align them in a pitched dark room with the left hand while holding the camera with your right. In any case, you get the picture. For the price and function. Do I recommend these, yesssss!

I bought two sets of these, one for a M&P40c and one for a SWD40VE. They fit perfectly on both. You will need a slide pusher or a smith to install them. Using a punch will potentially rupture the tritium capsule. Daytime and Nighttime sight picture and acquisition is great. Great value on these as well!

Not sure if the dovetails on my copy of the S&W M&P are just especially tight but I had to dremel some metal off of the base of these sights to get them to easily fit into the dovetail. I actually busted my sight pusher's main bolt trying to get these sights into the dove tail. After replacing the half inch bolt and taking a little metal off the rear sight's base, it went into the dovetail on the slide with no problems. So perhaps the base of the rear sight was not manufactured to proper specification or maybe the dovetails on my copy of the M&P are off by a few thousands of an inch but either way, these sights are great once you get them installed. The tritium is bright, the dots are well centered and the steel housing for the tritium rods definitely seems quality. Just keep in mind though, if your sights do not fit easily into the dovetails... just take off a little metal until they fit snugly. Just don't take off too much though!

This item *WILL* fit on SD9VE. I have the MGW Sight Pusher and experienced zero challenges installing these. These are exceptionally bright - They're actually the brightest of all the tritium NS I've installed on any of my handguns. You will need a sight pusher for these if you own a S&W Shield - Don't attempt it without, or pay the gunsmith to do it for you instead. It isn't worth ruining the finish on your gun or the sights themselves. Once on the pistol however, it is totally worth the price. If you want to save some money vs purchasing from the bigger name competitors and still have an excellent product, I think these are the way to go.
