Just got a replacement item... now the tv volume on the remote changes the hdmi inputs (the other did not) .. back to square one...

Same issue here. Volume down on my TV and Xfinity remote both switch the video Input channels.

Does it support 1080p 120hz?

Hi . Thanks for askling a question for this hdmi selector switch 5 port ! This is hdmi 2.0 switch 5 port, which support , 4K @60Hz., 4K@30Hz . 1080P 60Hz . so it supports 1080P but doesn't support 120Hz. Any inconvenince , Hope your kind understanding ! Thank you very much !

The product seems to work flawlessly without plugging in. Why is there a plug? What am I missing?

Many, but not all source media devices transmit sufficiant electrical power through the HDMI cable to power the splitter. So it has its own electrical power outlet plug.
