Wonderful haircut for my pal!
I have a cocker spaniel. Finally bought this gem and paid more yes....and beyond happy. My $50 pair I bought finally quit working and never was happy with them. A hair cut for my dog went from 1 1/2 hours or I'll finish it tomorrow to 35 mins! I just got done and yes only used once. I was only on 1st speed. Never even went to the 2nd speed. It did not get hot like other reviews might say, maybe towards the end a little warm but nothing that hurt him or me. Its a motor. It'll get a little warm. Nice long cord and the #10 worked great as I just shave him down. I don't do the cocker cut as I can't brush 20 times a day to get tangles out plus he gets hot with long hair. I admit I usually do two haircuts then back to the groomer for a real deal so yes I'm saving money in the long run. I'm no groomer but this was the best time he and I had as it wasn't loud running and truly like a hot knife through butter. Reminder only used once just a few mins ago and be back to get him next month sometime but these are built well. I only put a 4 star on weight. Its 2 pounds give or take and ounce but to me it's fine and I knew I had a genuine good product. Do yourself and your pup a favor and spend the extra money, clean the tool, and grease when needed.

Perfect for curly haircuts!
I have a cocker spaniel/poodle mix who is over 16 years old. The groomer will no longer take him because of his age so I ordered these clippers after reading reviews. I had some less expensive ones years ago and they wouldn't cut his curly hair. They pulled and he would have none of it. These clippers are amazing! So easy to cut his hair - not terribly loud either. They didn't get as hot as I expected so we were able to do most of it in one sitting. As you can see, we didn't finish as he was ready for a break but it did a great job. I am by no means a professional and I hope to get better but as long as he is cooler, I am good with it. These clippers are well worth the investment. I have spent 50 bucks every 5 or 6 weeks to get him groomed. After a few cuts at home, we will have made our money back.

Great Clippers and Peace of Mind
Great looking clippers and are sure to perform well on my Boykin Spaniel. Living in the south, it's imperative to keep your dog's coat clipped, especially in the harshest months of summer. We frequently have temps in the 100s with humidity high enough to feel like you walked into a steam shower. Even though my three dogs are inside pets, they have to go out to play and potty, so in order to keep my Boykin cooler, I always clip her hair (they have hair, not fur, that keeps growing and requires constant care) clipped very close most of the year. The cheap Wahl clippers do not work on the majority of dogs. They're just not powerful enough to do the job properly. Using scissors is dangerous, even with dogs who lay still while you're using them. I once cut my Boykin's belly and it's been over a year and I'm still guilty. I will never use scissors again. Do yourself a favor, and your pet, and get a great pair of clippers and you can do the job properly. They're a little more expensive than I would like, but it's peace of mind knowing I won't hurt my dog and they will do a great job in a shorter period of time. The only regret I have is that I didn't think to get an extended warranty and now I don't see one. I'll just go through Square Trade and get one directly. It's not too expensive and you're not going to want to replace a $150 pair of clippers as soon as your warranty expires.

Amazing tool. Worth the money.
I have 3. Amazing tool. Worth the money if you breed or have a long haired dog and dont want to pay 50+ for a haircut every 6 months. If you do a lot of cuts you'll want at least 2 shavers because they heat up as you use them from the friction. Oiling helps but have extra blades and another shaver or you'll be taking breaks to finish the hair cut. The ceramic #40 blades are the best quality for the money for non shedding dogs.

The absolute worst customer service
I am basing my review on customer service. I have purchase multiple clippers in the past. They have always been satisfactory.I run an animal welfare surgical facility and we have to keep clippers on hand at all times as they are in constant use. I purchased a new clipper in September and received them on September 11th. They were purchased as a back up clipper as we had just opened our last one. Today is November 8th, they were opened today for the first time. Out of the box they did not work. It clearly states on their paperwork NOT to call the store they were purchased at...to call them directly. I did as they asked. When I reached their customer service rep "Jenny", she was more concerned with schooling me on the proper use of clippers. I had already explained that we are well versed in clipper use. I have 36 years experience alone! Then she condescendingly asked if we were maintaining the clippers properly with the oil that was provided. Again, I repeated that we just opened them today and they did not work out of the box. She then said we should have used them the day they were received and to check my warranty. Once again, I told her they were not needed when they were received. They were ordered as back up. She then told me to send them in at our expense and they would "look at them". I asked for her name....rather then answer me, she asked for both my first and last name and tried to hang up. When I interrupted her, she unwillingly provided her first name and refused to provide her last name. I asked to speak with her supervisor. she put me on a long hold only to come back to say her supervisor was too busy to speak to me. A company is only as good as it's representatives. This was a horrible experience!!! Never again Andis. $160.00 for a new pair of clippers that you berate the customer for when approached, expect them to pay more so you can"look at them", and you treat a long time client with untenable disrespect.

Great professional product
Great product! I use it commercially. It was recommended to me by a dog groomer. I love that it is 2 speed and is rather quiet. I have used it for years and it is holding up extremely well.

Great product if you're in America!
Disappointed as the description did not state it was 130v & American plug, despite it being sold to a U.K. Customer.

So far so good
Always used Andis for professional use. This one works well on clean dogs best. Heavy dirty coated dogs I still prefer my old 2 stage Andis. Seems to have a little more strength. This does a nice clean clip and is a little softer for noise. Did take some time to get used to it’s different grip and balance in my hand but is fine now. Might have just been me getting used to new equipment. Would purchase again.

Way better than cheap cordless clippers
Pricey but well worth it. Blows cheap cordless trimmers out of the water. Brush and detangle first and this cuts through my doodle's coat like butter. It is a bit louder than the cordless clippers that I also have (which are still useful for sanitary and other sensitive areas) but not by too much. Noise is about the same as for barber's clipper. Make sure to pick up extra oil clipper oil and guard combs to go with this as well.
