Vibrant Color, Smooth Taste, Magnificent Potentcy
Since I was boy, I've always preferred tea over coffee and I'm always on the lookout for a good tea. This is one of the finest I've had the pleasure of drinking. My first experience with green tea, were with crappy bagged green tea leaves. The blend I got tasted like lawn trimmings and I was turned off of green tea for quite awhile. However, when my Dad got very sick I decided to give green tea another shot because the numerous health benefits I had read about. Getting this tea was excellent choice. The tea helped him fight his illness and he overcome it, and helped his blood pressure. I also started drinking the tea, and for first time in my life I started drinking tea without any sugar in it at all.The package is 100g and states that there are 50 servings per bag. I haven't measured the exact number of cups of tea I've gotten out of a bag, but I've found that a 1/4 teaspoon makes a large, strong mug of green tea. I'm very pleased with the multiple organic certifications Kenko Tea has. On top of this, I'm even more pleased by the other certifications. The package is flat and very compact, making easy to store until you're ready to use it. As soon as I opened the bag, I knew this was going to be great tea. The matcha powder has rich, earthy scent to it, which matches perfectly with the pale green of the powder. This color is intense and can easily be used as food coloring like saffron, possibly even as a dye or natural pigment. The taste is smooth and mild, there is no bitterness or grassiness at all. The difference is between real Japanese matcha powder and commercially mass produced green tea, is like the difference between night and day. This may be cooking grade, but the tea is anything but a cheap cooking additive. Once you drink this, you won't want anything else. This is high grade tea and is on the expensive side. The quality worth every penny, though. I try to brew a pot of this for myself and my father every day. This is one of the few products I've brought where I could see the health benefits right in front of my eyes. Drinking this reminds me of Quentin Tarantino's line in Pulp Fiction, about buying good coffee to taste it. This couldn't apply more here. You don't need milk, sugar, or anything else to drink this, its perfect as it is. Don't cheap out, buy this and you won't be disappointed.

New to Matcha, and I love it!
I am no Matcha expert, so remember that when reading. I only just started trying to drink this regularly instead of coffee. This particular brand is from a farm in Japan, which I prefer over getting it from a brand that buys from China. This company is also smaller, and I wanted to support small business. I think the product is excellent... the Matcha is super-fine and dissolves well enough. I do not have one of those bamboo whisks (though I really want one, they look so cool!). I use a regular wire whisk in a little bit of hot water to dissolve 1tsp of the powder, and it works just fine. It wasn't totally dissolved, but I think that's to be expected without the right tools. There weren't giant chunks left! The taste is super fresh and it smells really nice as well. Even my husband, who doesn't like new, or green, things thought that it tasted good enough to drink (I added some honey for him)! I have only had it a week, and I think to benefit from Green Tea you have to be consistent and drink it for a while, from what I've read. So, I'm not really more energetic yet, though I do feel less sluggish after cutting coffee. This could be due to the Matcha as well, but I'm not sure. Either way, without coffee I have been able to keep up with the kids all day and not feel a crash, so the Matcha is definitely not hurting my energy! I do feel a bit more focused on my work days after I drink it in the morning. I haven't lost weight (not MY goal, but might be someone elses).I like to drink it iced so what I do is dissolve 1tsp in about 1/2 cup of HOT water in a shallow bowl. Then I whisk it up and try to get it really dissolved. Then I add in a little honey and whisk that up too. Pour that in a bigger cup/glass and add about 1/2 cup of cold water, and whisk just to mix it up. Then I put as much Soy or Almond milk as I want (usually about 3/4 to 1 cup). Then I add some Ice, stir it up, and enjoy the deliciousness!I thoroughly enjoy the drink/product, and I will keep enjoying this brand for when I want my Matcha!

HEALTHY & TASTY!!
Terrific Tea!So glad I tried your friendly Fox logo. This is my third order from Kenko. The first came in a tin. The second two came in sturdy lined brown envelopes. I carefully spooned it into my cute little tin and froze the rest.I was hesitant to try a new brand, but glad I did. Kenko's Matcha Green Tea was a major move up in taste and quality. I always wondered why my previous brand did not "froth". Now I know!I've been drinking a lot of matcha for a year and a half. The top number in my blood pressure lowered from upper 140's to a range of 113-116 in the first six months. Yahoo!!I'm not thin...however, the matcha tea has made a HUGE difference in my health. At dawn I drink Kenko warm and then several more cups cold in my Tervis with stevia throughout the day. Sometimes I'll flavor it with some orange rind. The slow rising energy is nice. I transferred from a high-end coffee. My husband still drinks coffee every morning. Although I still like the smell of coffee, I have bonded with the matcha. I never get the coffee drop or a shaky caffein feeling. It's pleasant to drink and gives a gentle energy to my day. Likely similar to sublingual B-12.Sometimes I'll have a little left over from my second warm cup. I save the concentrated shot of "green goodness" for a smoothie or pour it over ice and a liquid protein drink in a Tervis and dash out the door.I am amazed at how much my blood pressure changed...even without being close to my ideal fighting weight. :)Try it! I think you'll be a pleased skeptic like me!!

Good matcha!
I bought this matcha powder to try out as I received a pack of Japanese matcha from my friend and we almost finished it. We use it to add to our overnight oats. I added my museli, honey and matcha tea then add yogurt in a maison jar. It gives the much needed caffeine in the morning. This green matcha powder is a pretty shade of green which is a good quality for culinary matcha tea. The taste is not bad, I like it! However, we find that it has a more 'woody' taste than the subtle green 'grassy' taste so i will use it for cookies instead. We will try the Premium Ceremonial Grade next round and see if we like it more. I think the gift that we received is a ceremonial grade therefore the color and taste is superior. I have attached a picture to give an idea of how green this is compared to my matcha gift.

Tried many matchas and always come back to this one
I'm no matcha connoisseur by any means, but I've tried many, both ceremonial and culinary grades, and this is my go-to. I haven't bought any other brands for several years. The color is bright green, unlike any other culinary matcha I've seen (all an unappetizing muddy gray-green). To my relatively uneducated palate the flavor matches many ceremonials; it doesn't have the typical culinary matcha dried grass or hay taste. For the price, this is the one. And it's organic. One reason I rarely splurge on ceremonial grade is that I don't do the traditional drink (simply matcha powder whisked into hot water). Instead, every morning I blend up my antioxidant, anti-inflammatory matcha "latte": 1 tsp Kenko culinary grade matcha powder, 1 tsp powdered turmeric, a few grinds of black pepper, 1 Tbsp unrefined cold-pressed coconut oil, and 1 scoop Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides in a big mugful (~16 oz) of boiled, slightly cooled spring water (blend the first ingredients on high speed 15 secs, then add the collagen powder and blend on lowest speed 5 secs or stir in with a spoon). For even more immunity-boosting power, I sometimes add other spices like ginger, cinnamon, cayenne pepper. The drink is creamy, warming, soothing, and delicious, and it keeps me going until a late breakfast or even lunch. Feels like I'm doing something really good for my body! I'm pretty much addicted at this point.

Okay for Baking, Not for Hot Lattes
This product is not good for making hot lattes. It does not dissolve even with whisking in near boiling water. I try to dissolve it in my french press, add hot milk and maple syrup/sugar, and then press it to get rid of the clumps (there are a lot of clumps) and get the milk foamy. The taste is so horrible I cannot drink it. This is the second brand of matcha I've tried from Amazon. The Jade Leaf brand (culinary grade) dissolves better, has a brighter green color, and tastes infinitely better. As I still had quite a lot of this product left, I did some baking with it. It made delicious green tea sugar cookies. Bolstered by my success, I also made green tea cupcakes. For baking, this product imparts a strong but very nice green tea flavor. I sifted the powder with my flour and again had some clumping issues, so I wouldn't recommend baking without sifting, but the final products were quite tasty.

Give it a go!
***This is an honest unsolicited review***I'm not one for coffee, energy drinks, tea or caffeine in general anymore. I'm a bit sensitive to caffeine. I do love the the taste of green tea though. I'm a health nut. I enjoy convenience. Kenko's tea gives me a little energy boost, but it's much calmer than with coffee. This is a huge plus for me.This Kenko Matcha Green Tea powder is very enjoyable. At first, I mixed it up in some hot water and made hot tea. I use a half-3/4 teaspoon. The taste is very strong and bold, which I like. It is apparent that this is green tea in that it is pungent. It does tend to clump a little if mixed this way, which to some may be unpleasant. I tried it in my shaker bottle next with some cold water. This way is more preferable. Tastes just as good this way and doesn't clump.I also throw this in my nutribullet shakes. Depending on what my shakes consist of, the matcha can be non existent or be a nice subtle addition in the "green swamp concoction".Overall, I'd say this was a good purchase. There isn't anything bad I can say about this product. It met all my expectations. If you like green tea and want more antioxidants and a richer tasting green tea, then give this a try. You'll probably like it too.

Everything I hoped it'd be
I recently discovered matcha green tea in a search for coffee alternatives and I LOVE IT...it's everything I hoped it'd be. I ordered the culinary grade a few weeks ago as I like getting a little more bang for my buck(I've never tried the ceremonial grade so I may not know what I'm missing) and I enjoyed it so much I ordered three more bags. It provides a calm uplifting energy unlike the typical rocket up and crash down of coffee and you can just tell when drinking it just how healthy it is...How can you go wrong drinking that bright green goodness? Now I am one of those that took my coffee with lotsa lotsa, I don't know how some drink it black, but with the matcha I add some almond milk and a spoonful of honey and BANG, that's all it takes to make it delicious. Some folks have issues with the clumping and yes, you may have a bit of sediment on the bottom of the cup, it's good for you, I highly recommend buying the bamboo whisk to go along with your purchase, it works wonderfully. I've been drinking Green Tea iced for over a decade and the matcha is a bit earthier in taste but not overwhelmingly so...give it a shot. Thank you to Kenko Tea for taking the care to provide such a quality product. I did NOT receive this product free for my opinion :-(
