Original Handcrafted Authentic Viking Drinking Horn Tankard for Beer Mead Ale - Genuine Medieval Inspired Stein Mug Food Safe Vessel with Handle (24oz)

So I was iffy on getting this because there were some that didn't get good ones and some broke and all that. But I wanted a true horn for the Renaissance Festival, for the way I dress when I work it is that if a Norse (Viking) woman with the apron dress. And I wanted something to go with it.So after I had received it, I was amazed at how big it actually is. I saw that someone got a very tiny one and I was afraid that I would get a small one too. But it's amazing! There is the initial smell, but it didn't smell like chemicals, just animal kinda smell. I'm very pleased with mine because the one I got is mostly grey and black some tan/green bit but that's it. I filled it all the way the water and set it down on a paper towel and walked away. When I came back roughly 10-20 minutes later the paper wasn't wet. There was a small ring but that was were I had set the mug. The resin covering it isn't THE best. Right where the handle bends back it's a little rough, but not peeling which I don't mind it gives it some texture. There is two bubbles on it from the resin and idk why but nothing terrible (to me anyway). I will probably update more when I get to use it at the grounds. Btw it does have a nice sterdy weight to it! It's not very light like I thought it would be!

My Alehorn arrived last night and I was ecstatic - it's absolutely gorgeous, and I immediately fell in love. I was looking forward to enjoying a beer with it today (worked out before bed and didn't wanna kill my gainz, bro).Then, the unthinkable happened: I found some damage on the inside of the horn. Having already imprinted on my horn like a baby duck with its mother, I hoped it was reparable and emailed the company for advice.First of all, Ben replied to my email after only 11 minutes which is a pretty astonishing response time.Second, and speaking as a manager in the service industry myself, he provided some of the best customer support I've ever received. He told me how to fix my horn, then told me I shouldn't have had to and that he was sending me a brand new one in addition.Not all heros wear capes. Actually for all I know Ben does. I didn't ask. You get the point.I'll update this review with details once I repair the first horn, receive the new one, and drink from both.So far, I'm pretty impressed by the product and the company.

I purchased 2 XL mugs for my wife and I. The craftsmanship and attention to detail is bar none.The mugs are polished beautifully, and have their own unique holding style. My wife took the traditional one, and I took the one that was straight out of a movie.I am a huge medieval and viking buff. This suits me to a T, and I can't wait to use it watching my Minnesota Vikings play.We have a keg fridge, and always have a mead keg on tap. This is going to be filled stat tomorrow morning with mead while smoking a turkey for Thanksgiving. I cannot wait and I feel like I will immediately grow a beard the second the mead hits my lips.Thank you Alehorn for an epic product!!

I orderd the XL 20oz & it looks more like a large 16 maybe.. Its pretty but no weight & looks like shiny plastic not horns.. But its just very shiny ,It Dont leak but dont look authentic. I ordered the XL. I was gonna buy another one. but its just not looking like its a ox horn..to smooth my kitchen glasses are heavier than this... Im a girl & thats my hand in the vidieo.. Does it look like an XL to you.. or look like its a real ox horn..way to light weight***UPDATE: I did buy a 2nd XL one for my other son inlaw & the base deff looks wooden , but Im afraid later it mite leak..Picture shown up at top. The bottom of the cup could of used more sealant (resin) like the 1st one. Time will tell if the bottom at the seam leaks.. The 1st one I bought you could not see a seal edge. I did up grade my stars from 3 to 4... only because with the 2nd one you can see the wooden base..but it still worries me it dont have enough resin sealant. I was hoping for another dark one ,but the light one looks good too.. it also has no smell & I did do a water test to see if it will leak ,but that dont mean after the warrenty is over Jan 31st its not gonna start leaking & I will be so embarrest. Keeping my fingers crossed 🤞🏼🍀 They are pretty but so light.. durabilaty time will tell. I misread the 97 year warrenty ,I think that was for the big pointy horn style not these.. wish me luck for both of them🤞🏼🍀

This is a unique and gorgeous gift item! I purchased this item as a birthday gift for my fiance, and he has loved using it. It is a real horn, beautifully crafted into a gorgeous yet functional drinking vessel. There was initially a slight authentic horn smell, but my fiance didn't mind it at all. Plus, any lingering scent can be removed by coating it with baking soda overnight. A few months after my purchase, a leak developed at the base. I contacted AleHorn and their customer service absolutely outstanding. I will definitely use them for future gift purchases.

I have received a few Ale Horn products as gifts as well as purchased items as well. This company is wonderful. Their customer service is at the same wonderful quality as its products. This particular tankard (AleHorn Drinking Horn Tankard with Handle White Premium Pearl - L ) is marketed as a large. Mine safely held 16 ounces of liquid. It is made of authentic horn so no two items will ever be the same. It is not designed for hot liquids (though Ale Horn does sell a hot beverage tankard so check those out). It also is a hand wash only item. But if you are looking for an item to be used well in a man cave, for cosplay as a viking or dwarf or just to have a fun earthy drinking vessel, then this company can set you up. It is worth the money and the company stands behind its products. You won't be disappointed.

This company is so hit or miss that it’s incredibly frustrating. I bought my first alehorn just over 2 years ago now and had a issue with the first one in less than a month. I would wash it by hand and within the first 30 days it developed a leak between the bottom and the horn itself. I contacted customer support and they sent me a replacement alehorn. Problem was, they sent me one that looked like it had been dragged behind a car over pavement and looked like it was used considerably already. I contacted customer support again and they again sent me a replacement. This one looks better than the last one but not as great as the first… oh well I say and use it for about a year without any issues. Then, a couple months ago the top part of the alehorn where you drink out of separated to where I didn’t want to drink out of it. So, I contacted customer support yet again and they sent me yet another replacement mug. I just got it today and it looks fantastic, yet it’s the wrong (considerably smaller) size. The products can be great when they don’t break and actually work as intended, when the company sends you the right sizes and when they actually send you the new products that you should be receiving. Unfortunately that’s less than probably 20% of the time and again unfortunately there’s more issues than not. Currently I’m up to having 4 issues with this company and still don’t have the product that I originally purchased. I guess we’ll roll the dice again and see what happens with attempt number 5 at this point.

**Updated 4/20/2018**Alehorn reached out to me about the subpar tankard I had received and offered to send a new one. I just got it today and its absolutely incredible. The finish is perfect and it looks overall a thousand times better!I had read so many good things about these, which is what convinced me to finally purchase one. Sadly, mine is not where near what I expected. The exterior of the mug has no sealant on it and has already started peeling and chipping away. The base of the mug, where the company has their name stamped, has a large crack that passes through the entire length, which has started to leak after 2 water tests. The upper rim of the mug has large, rough chips in it, making it almost impossible to drink from without rubbing or cutting your lip. The handle also had a rough piece that stuck out, but after wiping it down, completely ripped off the handle, leaving the exposed and untreated horn. Overall, this was a true disappointment. Once I have some free time I'll add some pictures to the review.

Bought for my husband as a gift. He loved it! Comes with the bag as shown in the photo (I had an xl cup). Colour of cup was black with lines of light brown. Really nice!!

Sehr schoen.ABER es rinnt.3 mal Kaffe reingegossen, und schon beim 3. Mal kam der Kaffe unter wieder raus.Bin sehr entäuscht denn es war ein Geschenk.Jetzt nur noch als Deko benutzen.War nicht wirklich das Ziel.
