SECOND FOLLOWUP: I received a replacement for the cracked screen holder from Omega in roughly a week. I've used this juicer again for roughly two weeks, and again am noticing the same type of cracking with the replacement screen holder. In no way am I abusing this juicer; this is a serious design problem. I'll be calling Omega yet again for another replacement. It's become obvious that the plastic isn't tough enough to withstand the strain of the compressing nylon gears squeezing the juice. I'd caution anyone else investing this type of money. I expect Omega will correct this with Hurom, the manufacturer. FOLLOWUP TO BELOW: I obviously wrote this review too quickly. After roughly two weeks of daily juicing, the clear plastic screen holder has developed four significant cracks, forcing me to contact Omega for a replacement and of course, having to go back to my NC800. Omega had a bad problem with their 8000 series juicers about a decade ago, with cracking screen holders. Looking at the part, in the light of what's happened, I think this will be an ongoing problem. I'm sixty years of ago and hardly a bodybuilder, so no, it hasn't been from abuse at all. On my Tribest twin gear, the screen holder is a thick white nylon. It's over a decade old and still looks and works like new. I wish now that I hadn't purchased this, but I'm going to see it through. I believe this is a design issue--one of making the holder in a more stylish see-through plastic instead of something thicker and more substantial. I'll follow up on here after Omega sends me a replacement and I've had some time to use it. Prior review--I've been juicing since the 70's, have owned a lot of different juicers of many types, along with a couple of Vitamix blenders. My current daily blender is the Omega NC800 because my concentration is generally on dark leafy greens, for which the single auger juicers are especially efficient and easy to use. However, I also own a Tribest Green Star, but it's such a beast, being huge and very heavy, that I tend to tuck it away. Plus, cleaning is tedious with it. I bought this Omega TWN mostly out of curiosity. I've owned several Omegas over the past 25 years, and all have been great. Their customer service, for me, has been equally excellent. I don't recommend twin gear juicers to newbies at all. They'll get impatient that most produce isn't sucked in like a Chinese Breville, and there is still a certain routine required to clean the parts. However, there are certainly less parts, and they are easier to clean, than the Green Star or Green Star Elite. No, this is a type better left until someone is certain that they're servious about juicing--and not just the silly fruit stuff shown on the infomercials. The gears on this juicer are noticeably smaller and consequently lighter than on the Green Star. The biggest adjustment for me is having to get used to a fairly small, round feed chute again. The NC800 has spoiled me with that big opening. However, this juicer is quiet, easy to assemble and take apart (for an experienced juicer) and comes with both a food-grade wood pusher and a plastic one. The plastic silver-finish housing matches exactly with my NC800. Should be neutral and attractive for most kitchens. I do like on this machine how I can look down and actually see the twin gears chomping up the produce; the Green Star and the other twin gear juicers either hide the action under metal or white plastic. As for yield, I've found it to be quite respectable. This type of juicer causes foam on the top;of green juice, far more than the single auger machines like the NC800. However, this juicer does better than the NC800 on hard fruits and veggies. But then, no juicer is the best at everything. In comparing this juicer with the Green Star from Tribest, it should be kept in mind that it's about $200 cheaper. I don't see any difference in fit and finish. I did have to replace the gears on the Green Star one time after well over a decade because the nylon part of the twin gears was disintegrating into powder. But, this was after about a decade of hard, daily use. And this Omega does come with a 15-year warranty!

I would have given 5 stars because we loved it and then two months after purchasing this the ring that holds the gears in the casing broke. This has a 15 year warranty. It is now 8 days after contacting them (15 year warranty) and their customer service has only said that the part is on back order and she would check with the warehouse manager and not another word. I bought this because my husband has leukemia and juicing is an important part of his protocol and now this has been down for almost two weeks. The ring is heavy plastic and probably should be metal. I am extremely disappointed in their customer service. If they don't have the ring then replace the juicer, 2 months into the 15 year warranty.

I start juicing since 2008 so I have used champion juicer, vertical low speed juicer, legacy Norwalk Juicer (current), and other omega single gear horizontal juicer. I bought this one for my parents and had tried it myself too. Pro: Doesn't heat up the juice. Slow speed, very quiet, preserve ingredients' nutrition and flavors well, use less ingredients to produce more juice, dry pulp, easy to clean, juice leafy ingredients like magic Suggestions: 1.If you are first time user, I suggest you to read the manual VERY CAREFULLY and follow through the steps when doing first time assembling. Otherwise, you might ruin your twin gears. 2.To juice hard ingredients like carrots or beets, I highly recommend you to cut them into SMALL THIN pieces. Otherwise, you will have to push carrots really hard to make them go through the twin gears, which is likely to damage the gears or motor when the force is too strong. 3.The pulp screen easily block the filter pore when juice is coming down. I suggest NOT TO USE the screen, but just collect all the juice first without screen, then use sieve later to filter the juice. It will save you time from stirring the screen with spoon constantly and hoping the juice will go down smoothly while juicing at the same time. 4. I wish the horse power is at least 3HP and outside finishing and handle could have being made of STAINLESS instead of plastic. With twin gears that comes only with 2HP, I personally feel it is a little bit weak on strength or its juicing torque. A $500 price machine, I expect a more classy look and sturdy heavy duty build than a cheesy silver plastic cover (you feel it can be broken anytime.). This is the BIGGEST disappointment. (Champion commercial juicer cost only $280 per machine but with 100% stainless case sturdy build and 3HP.) 4.

El extractor es muy bueno pero no me gusta que tiene muchas piezas y es muy complicado de armar y limpiar. Antes de este tuve un vertical (vert 350) y la verdad me gusta mucho más. Es más rápido armar, limpiar y procesar los jugos. Con este tienes q estar apretando. Depende para qué lo uses. Este funciona muy bien para hacer crema de cacahuate pero para jugos no es mi favorito.

Give it a 4.5 star. The only negative I see is the casing around the fine screen is showing signs of stress cracking already. Hopefully Omega will fix this problem with a stronger plastic. I've sent Omega an email but they haven't responded after 2 weeks, yet. Other than that it's better than the Hurom vertical juicer we had before and gets a lot more juice too. A lot less noise too. Relatively easy to clean, a couple of minutes and it's done. After using this machine for over a year now I revised my ranking to a 3 star. The reason is it goes through screens(both fine and course) very regularly, seems they last maybe a couple months(using it 5 days a week) then they crack and need replacing.

Messy but great once you start understanding what works best with the different screens vs vegetable and fruit.

This is not worth the money. Apples need to be cut in small slivers and pits removed! Huge regret spending g over 600$ for this machine it’s not better than my cheap older one
