Leg savers for your horses
Love these! My horse gets much needed leg relief with these. He's picking up and stomping much less than he does without them. He is still kicking at flies on his belly but these are for legs and I figure the flies are just going for whatever they can bite when the lower legs aren't available. They hold up in all weather and are breathable, easy to clean and with the velcro, you can fit them comfortably (the velcro really adhears well, they don't come off easily). Definitely worth the money.

Fly free and super colorful!
I have an OTTB who is driven absolutely bonkers by flies. Last year, this triggered significant weight loss and a major ulcer treatment. I've tried a variety of different styles and brands and IMO, the shoo-fly boots are without a doubt the very best for us. She wears her boots 24/7. Shoo Flies are durable- every other style and brand if not destroyed, were looking raggedy well before the end of the season even though they were in rotation with other styles. Shoo Flys may have bleached out a little in the sun, but have otherwise been indestructible. We also appreciate the loose fit that doesn't ever seem to rub on her legs (which is why I had to have other brands in rotation). One caveat- It did take her a little bit to adapt to the hind boots even though she'd worn other styles on her hind legs before... the first time she flew backwards, trembling and totally freaked out. So I used the shoo flies only on the front for a bit (and another brand behind). After a while, I rotated the ones I'd used in front to her back legs and she was absolutely fine. Who knows? maybe she didn't like the stiffness of the new ones or maybe she was just having a bad day? It is all good now and she wears only these... 24/7, front and back. Oh, yes. Really great color options too. If one ever does fall off in the pasture (which hasn't happened yet), these bright pink ones will be easy to find. And everyone else at the barn enjoys the cool color too!

Excellent choice to protect legs from flies & bugs.
These fit my mare perfectly. She is 14.1 in height. The velcro is strong, so they stay on and protect her legs from all the summer bugs. I would buy again if needed.

Worked
They felt expensive but horse stuff is and if it works that is mostly what counts and they did work! They stayed on and he got use to them and I think liked them. He got 1 or 2 off a few times but he is a smart boy and I think realized they were helping so didn’t try to get them off and was happy to have them put on once he had figured out that they helped. I do recommend using common sense and checking them and the horses legs often for rubbing or sharp plastic etc. but they lasted a whole season and I am going to see if we can make it one more. I do wish they had even taller options for taller horses because they do work/break down some and then don’t cover as much leg but they are much better than nothing and worked better than other options I saw at the barn.

A must for horses with feet that tend to bruise and drop their shoes
They keep your horse from stampeding of their shoes which is well worth the price.

Excellent quality, holding up to teeth, easy to fit
These gems have been all the rage during 2020 fly season in IL, and I finally picked up a pair for my itchy beast. She has sweet itch bad and has chewed through multiple sets of fly boots. I was skeptical that she would leave these alone or at least not be able to destroy them in the last few weeks of summer. She wears them 24/7 and so far so good! At first, she walked like a cat in boots and gave me the most confused, hurt look I've ever seen like I'd put shackles around her ankles. She forgave me in 5 minutes and followed me around again like the pocket pony I know and love. I think the best feature is the fact that they're loose around the whole lower leg, so the contact of the boot isn't adding to her skin irritation like clothing rubbing over a mosquito bite. I bought them for $52 for 4 -- I've seen them elsewhere as high as $101 for 2, which is outrageous. Worth finding them as a full set for sure and even as low as $48.

Best fly boots ever!
Super easy to put on, very effective and great fit. Wish there were more colors to choose from, but the pink is okay. These boots make such a difference, she is not stomping her feet constantly, her unshod feet are far less chipped and delaminated at her recent hoof trim than they were without the boots. These are a must have in south Florida and best part, they STAY ON, a bonus!

Better than fly spray
This is the second time I've bought these. They last through fly season but by the time fall rolled around last year, the velcro didn't stick very well. This year, I'm putting the fly boots only on the front legs -- I figured the back legs have the tail to swish flies away. By only using two at a time, I have another pair as a back up. I've learned to keep a closer eye on the weather, so if we have a storm rolling in I'll take them off. The mud has a tendency to get into the velcro and make them less velcro-y. The bright pink makes it much easier to spot them in the field when they come off. I think these are a little pricey, but they work.

Poor quality
I’ve been buying these leggings for years, but this time around the quality has dropped. I bought them in March, 2024, but didn’t need them until August. Within a week my horse had sores on all four heels. The binding and stitching is very hard. Guessing they’ve cut corners on the manufacturing. Haven’t been able to use them since. Waste of money and won’t be buying again.

Did not hold up
These boots did not hold up to more than 2 months of daily use. Disappointed in them

Protection That Actually Works
Use these leg protectors for my horse to keep bugs from biting. Surprised at how well they work. They stay up, dont rub on my horses legs and keep bugs away. Just as good as some of the more expensive brands and saves constantly using bug spray on horses legs.
