Simple installation of 3 control kits
I purchased three of these for my three bedrooms that only have the single light switch with each room having a Hunter Antero 46 in. LED Indoor Brushed Nickel Ceiling Fan. I needed to use the fan pull chain to control the speed of the fan and the light pull chain to turn off the light at night to keep the fan still on. Not a huge issue, yet I was looking for a simple remote for when guest visit. This product has worked flawlessly on one fan for over a month now. I was hesitant to install the other two for syncing issues I discuss later. Install was simple as long as you understand electrical wiring enough to install a fan, and maybe in this case just the basic ability of following instructions. Each control kit came with five plastic twist wire connectors. Installing three control kits, I had 15 wire connectors. As I installed the three units, two of the fifteen wire connectors (13%) came apart where the inter metal separated from the plastic outer piece. Perhaps I was twisting too much, yet I've never had this problem with other wire connectors. There were already wire connectors before I installed these control kits, so I reused those when the two failed. My biggest concern was having three identical remote controls that would control three different lights/fans (How would they sync separately?). I really didn't want one remote in my boy's bedroom to turn on the light in my girl's bedroom or the third bedroom. Other products had toggle switches at the control unit and the remote control to sync them up. This product does not have that, and I'm not sure if this was required, yet here were my steps to avoid one remote controlling two lights/fans (follow all precautions for electrical safety with breakers, etc. I will not list breaker steps here): 1) Turn off the wall light switch in bedroom 1 and install one Universal Ceiling Fan Remote Control Kit in bedroom 1. Turn on the wall light switch and test remote light and fan buttons. Everything worked as advertised for me, including the timing feature which can be convenient when needed. 2) Turn off wall light switch in bedroom 2 and install second kit in bedroom 2. Go to bedroom 1 wall light switch (not the remote's light button) and turn it off. Then turn on wall light switch in bedroom 2 and test remote light and fan buttons. Only bedroom 2 should be working. I then went to bedroom 1 and turned its wall light switch on and tested its remote. Luckily both remotes worked for their respective bedrooms. 3) Turn off wall light switch in bedroom 3 and install third kit in bedroom 3. Go to bedroom 1 and 2 wall light switches and turn them off. Then turn on wall light switch in bedroom 3 and test remote light and fan buttons. Only bedroom 3 should be working. I then went to bedroom 1 and 2 and turned their wall light switched on and tested their remotes. All three remotes only worked for their respective rooms. It might have been overkill and maybe each remote is already assigned to its control unit at the factory, yet I didn't want to mess around and this worked for me. I gave it 5 stars, yet I thought about 4 stars in terms of build quality. Both the remote and the control are plastic that doesn't seem too sturdy. The wires from the control unit seem cheap as well compared to wires from the fan itself; I understand different wire gauges, yet I don't know how to describe the differences. The remote came with a simple wall mount, yet pressing the remote's light and fan buttons causes the remote to toggle towards the wall in the wall mount. This could have been designed better so the remote would not move if you want to press the buttons while the remote is in the wall mount. Overall, five stars, maybe four, yet it works as advertised and it was very affordable so perhaps a high build quality can't be expected. Oh, one more thing my wife doesn't like is that every push of the remote's light or fan button causes a beep at the control unit. I personally like the audible feedback that the control unit received the signal from the remote control. My wife does not; to each their own.

I can lay in bed and adjust the fan and light. I love it!
Now this is a game changer for my ceiling fan. It was a tight fit, but the wiring was super easy to hook up to my ceiling fan that I was installing. I wanted a remote control for my ceiling fan and light for my bedroom so I didn’t have to get up and adjust the ceiling fan or light. I have a toggle switch and a dimmer switch hooked up to this. I have to leave my ceiling fan dimmer switch on to use the remote, but that’s no big deal. I like that I can set my fan to low, medium, high or turn it off. I also really like that It has a timer which is good for 1 hour, 2 hour, 4 hours or 8 hours by using the remote. I use this every night during the summertime when I go to bed. The only slight downside to this is there’s an antenna that is part of the little box that goes into the ceiling fan that has to stick out of the ceiling fan cover. Because it’s at the ceiling it’s not that noticeable, but it is yellow. I didn’t realize this was going to have to be like this. The slight downside with this product is the remote makes a beep every time you press a button on it. I think I saw somewhere in one of the reviews there’s a way to stop the beep by pressing a certain button combo, but I have not tried that yet. I’ve had this hooked up for about a month now and absolutely love it and would highly recommend it.

It may not be your fan but...........
What a relief to find out that the fan didn't need replaced. It was the remote control kit! This was quickly installed, and it works great. So instead of buying a new fan unless you want one, look into one of these! Frankly, I never knew about this type of product as a replacement and I m glad I researched a bit. The price was fantastic and hundreds lower than a new ceiling fan!! I would recommend this.

Be prepared for the light to turn itself on after power interruption.
I love the way this remote works. You don’t have to “aim” it at the ceiling fan to work. It was easy to install. I have only one problem with this remote. I can go to bed and turn off the light and fan. If the power is interrupted the light will default on “ON”. This happens every time there is a power interruption! I know all I have to do is turn it off but how would it be if it was in my bedroom? (It’s installed in the living room). Other than that we love it!

Perfect Replacement
Very easy to install. It is a perfect replacement for the Fanimation Ceiling Fan Controller. It comes with everything needed to replace the existing fan/light control unit. The control unit is slightly larger than the original, but can still tuck it into the slot where it sits under the cover. The remote controller is slightly different than the OEM, but has all the same functions. The only downside of this kit is that the remote controller does not come with any batteries, so make sure you have 2 AAA batteries for the remote. If your fan/light controller is broken, this is a great option vs replacing the whole ceiling fan.

Easy replacement of existing remote control
Works as it should . My old one kept buzzing even when both light and fan were off . Power somehow was leaking tru the unit and making the buzzing sound . I ordered a total replacement fan but found this after the fact . For the diy replacement part ( the cost and ease of hooking up I couldn’t refuse ) . About 20 minutes and my original fan was back up running with no more noise . Simple to replace , just a PITA to take apart old fan and put back together .. I’m satisfied and will follow up in a few months to see how it’s still working and let yall know … highly recommend

DO NOT PURCHASE! THIS REMOTE IS POORLY DESIGNED AND OF VERY LOW QUALITY!
I installed this remote ceiling fan/light controller 69 days ago. From the beginning, it didn't work well. The idea was to control the light/fan without getting out of bed and walking across the room to the switch. However, it took perfect aim and positioning for the remote's signal to hit the dangling antenna wire and activate the switch. This was only achieved after multiple attempts and repositioning, which often required climbing out of bed and moving around the room and/or standing on a chair to finally get the remote to work. Of course, this was the only option because the wall switch for the fan had to be deactivated as part of the installation of this remote switch (only the wall switch for the light remains active). Then, six days ago the unit quit working altogether. I've pushed the buttons so many times from so many aiming positions that I worried about wearing the buttons out. Even getting on a ladder and putting the remote inches away from the antenna wire doesn't work. Now, to use the ceiling fan, I will have to take the whole fan down, remove the switch and rewire the fan to the wall switch like it was originally. This thing never worked as advertised and it completely gave up the ghost after only 63 days. DO NOT PURCHASE IT! THIS REMOTE IS POORLY DESIGNED AND OF VERY LOW QUALITY! I lasted long enough to get past the return window and has been a pain in the neck the whole time.

Well worth the money...
After installation, I was pleasantly surprised to see that I could still turn the lights on and off using the wall light switch. All functions of remote work well. No odd noises from fan. My fan is a 20 year old small Hunter fan in my bedroom. Putting the black box in the fan was a tight fit and I bought the small sized remote kit. After installing I set the light to on using the pull chain and the fan to high. I removed both pull chains, leaving the small 6 inch ball chains in place.
