I have a five year old dog who has good teeth, but he has some tartar build up from over the years. I give him greenies daily and lots of chews to keep his teeth healthy and clean. When I first got him, I brushed his teeth occasionally, but eventually stopped. Sometimes I hardly have the energy to brush my own teeth everyday, let alone my dog's, so can you blame me for stopping? After a couple years of no brushing, I decided to get back on the good dog dental hygiene train and ordered another tube of Petrodex Enzymatic Toothpaste. Now with just a short period of semi-regular usage, my dog's teeth look amazing! I got him when he was one and his teeth look better now at five then they did when I first got him. I've been using Petrodex Enzymatic Toothpaste a few times a week for the last month. The toothpaste softened and loosened the tartar that was on his back teeth, and I was able to use a tooth scaler to scrap off the tarter. The tartar came off easily in chunks. I wish I took before and after pictures because the results were fantastic. Granted my dog's teeth were not in horrible condition, so don't expect this product to work miracles, but the layer of tartar by his gums on his back teeth are completely gone. I was even able to remove the dark lines on his back teeth by his gums that I thought were his teeth going bad, but it was just deep-set tarter buildup that had darkened. I've included a picture showing my dog's teeth. I'm no dog dental expert, but his teeth look pretty good (for five years old!) if I do say so myself! All the results mentioned above were achieved with only one month of using the toothpaste, so I have no doubt that his teeth will in even better condition with a little more brushing. My dog also loves the taste of the toothpaste, which makes brushing his teeth a breeze. I highly recommend using Petrodex Enzymatic Toothpaste with a tooth scaler for optimal results. If you do decide to use a scaler, be careful so you don't hurt your dog's gums and do not press too hard as you may damage the enamel on the teeth. Press down gently, but firmly with the scaler against the tartar. Make sure to brush the teeth again after using the scaler as a final polish.

My dog LOVES this toothpaste! he even asks for more!! Since dogs love the flavour it is very easy to clean their teeth and I definitely have seen a difference in his teeth. They look clean and his breath is great! The product is thicker than human toothpaste, it looks like peanut butter. It does not foam, but it definitely cleans great!!!

It has a liver taste and hence your pooch won't hesitate to brush. Plus the properties are quite good for their dental health. I would recommend to give it a try. Brush 3-4 times a week with small quantity on a soft bristle toothbrush. Recommended.

Early days but happy so far , Seems to be doing the job . Dogs love it so are happy to have their teeth cleaned so that’s a bonus

La razon para comprar este producto es que buscando un dentífrico para mi perro, descubri que esta marca en particular suele aparecer en casi todas las listas de recomendaciones, asi que decidi hacer la prueba. Un detalle a tomar en cuenta es que tiene una fecha de caducidad larga (aprox 2 años), mientras que otras mas efectivas para limpieza caducan en solo 2 semanas despues de abierto el producto. Una de las cosas que mas me sorprendio es que esta hecha con autentica carne de pavo, que es justamente la razon por la que los perros adoran que les laven la boca con este producto. Curiosamente, no tiene olor. No huele a nada, y el perro tampoco huele después de cepillado. Sin embargo, a medida que la utilizas van desapareciendo el enrojecimiento de las encías, el sarro y el mal aliento. Por ultimo, el tubo de pasta tiene el doble de tamaño que cualquier otra marca en el mercado. El tamaño estandar es de 6 onzas, mientras que la competencia viene en presentaciones de 2.7. Si checas calidad vs tamaño, rendimiento y resultados, cuesta menos y hace mas.

This toothpaste has definitely improved our chihuahuas dental health. I was using a home made coconut based toothpaste however it just wasn’t doing the trick. Decided to take a chance on this and it’s definitely helping. It’s still early however there is a big improvement. As for the flavour… my chihuahua would definitely eat it if allowed. Although I don’t think it makes her enjoy teeth brushing more, it seems to be effective and improving her tooth cleanliness, color, plaque and tartar buildup. So far so good!
