CUSIMAX Electric Burner Hot Plate for Cooking Cast Iron Single Stove, 1500W

This electric burner has been really handy to have around. It heats up quickly and works great for cooking an extra dish when my stove is full or for using in an RV or on the patio. The temperature control is simple to use, and it’s sturdy and easy to wipe clean. It’s a great little burner that does exactly what it’s supposed to do.

I've had this a week, use it every day and its great. Never used induction before but hoped it would give me more precise temperature control than my electric cooktop with the benefit of faster heating. Both are true. It works great on my large fry pan that is actually 11" (a bit larger than mfg says). The controls are easy to use and see, with the tilted user panel. The 1800W is really important as I have found that its needed for heating liquids, at least initially. Other products with less wattage would be less of a delight. I have only 2 concerns. First, the glass top slightly discolors immediately on use. My pans are spotless so its definitely the surface. Using professional glass cooktop cleaner helps and can get to to look like new with more elbow grease than should be necessary (less than the cooktop sitting next to it). The other complaint is that the internal cooling fan turns on a little more aggressively than necessary. It is loud and turns on when the unit is turned on but before you even set a temperature. Finally, and if you are still reading to the bitter end thank you, the separate Power and Select switch are redundant. After pressing the power button (that prematurely turns on the fan) you still have to select the temperature/time setting. Better would be to eliminate the power button altogether and when you select a temperature then that turns on the unit to that temperature (and the fan).

Pros: small, portable, can be used outside, heats well Cons: On/off markings on dial disappear; takes a long time to cool off With COVID, recent rise in restaurant prices, and diminished restaurant service, I started grilling burgers myself on a regulator basis - but it really smelled-up the kitchen. So I bought the CUSIMAX to fry hamburgers outside on our deck. It was the most powerful single burner I could find that worked on 120v. I've been using it about 3-4X a week for a month and the CUSIMAX works great. Takes a little longer to get to full heat than our electric oven's stove top burner. But it gets more than hot enough to fry burgers and steaks. For burgers I use 4 min warm-up time + 4 min cooking time = 2 perfect burgers every time! (On our regular stove, I only used a 2 min warm-up time.) Takes a very long time to for burner surface to cool down - so be careful! I only use it a medium or high so I don't know how sensitive the temperature control is. My only minor complaint, as others have mentioned, is that the on/off markings began to immediately wear off due to grease from frying burgers. They obviously didn't test this or didn't care. They could have solved this by simply etching (rather than printing) the markings on to the dial. Otherwise, this is very good item for the cost. I am very satisfied with it.

I did not want to commit to a whole induction cook top so I bought this single model to see how I like it. It works fantastic. I can’t believe how fast I can make dinner. I keep it by the radiant glass cook top stove, so when I am done with my first item, I then move it over to the cook stove to stay warm while I quickly make the second item on the menu. I already owned some pots and pans that had magnetic bottoms so all That it cost to get started was the price of this induction cooker. Also I really appreciate that cooking with this induction stove doesn’t get me heated or add more heat to the room. It’s very easy to use. I used the power settings. A little power goes a long way. The second lowest power setting is good for sautéing and bring a thick sauce to a boil and the next highest one is good for stir fry. No reason to use the highest setting except to quickly bring water to a boil. People worry about the safety of the magnetic energy, so I keep it a foot away from me. I know naturalist doctors say walking on the dirt barefoot is good for your health because you are absorbing the Earths magnetic energy so I am not sure what is the difference. We plan on taking this induction plate with us camping.

Good quality product with good sturdy rubber cord nice stainless steel finish. Heat works fast and even heating makes my popcorn in a jiffy it's sure to work great with my cast iron pans.

All the power goes to one burner. It boiled my water beautifully. I love it. I would recommend it over the two burner when only half the power goes to the burner and I had difficulty making spaghetti. This came to a full boil and cooked my zucchini and potatoes.

I used the induction cooktop once to boil some water and was impressed with how fast the water boiled. The second use took much longer to boil water and about the time water started to boil smoke started coming out of the induction cooktop. I couldn't see it at first but you could smell it and the breaker tripped before I figured out it was the cooktop. This makes me question the safety of the cooktop because this is the only device plugged in to a 20A circuit breaker and it tripped under the load before anything internal like a fuse which is what I would expect. I have written the company 3 times over the last month trying to get a warranty replacement and have heard nothing back. So zero stars for the warranty support and now I question the safety of plugging another device in even if it was replaced. -Update 3 month after purchase: I still have not heard from Cusimax customer support and Amazon offered a return and refund so I went ahead and took them up on it. Amazon offered a return/refund at only 80% of the purchase value and I took it after not hearing anything from customer support and Amazon was unable to reach Cusimax as well. -Update 5 months after purchase - Cusimax contacted me and asked about the outlet voltage. The outlet voltage is exactly 125V which is in the acceptable range according to the NEC. Cusimax stated that is the cause of the device smoking and giving the E03 error. I tried to explain that the voltage here is allowed to be 114 to 126 Volts at the outlet. The induction cooktop is designed for 115V AC current and anything above that will damage the device. I am assuming they are not replacing it under any warranty. -Update 6 months after purchase - Cusimax wrote me again and finally agreed 125V is within the US standard according to the NEC and will look in to doing some kind of warranty claim. - Update 8 months after purchase - Cusimax contacted me once again and asked for my address and Amazon order number so the can issue a replacement. I gave them the requested information and they could see a refund was issued so the warranty was denied. Amazon only refunded 80% since it was past the return period. I asked if they would make upbthe difference and have not heard anything back yet.

Technically, this burner is okay. It creates fast and powerful, though small radius heat in a steel vessel. It seems to be very well made and sports a sleek design to look at. However, in everyday kitchen use it has terrible manners. It beeps every time you touch it! PLEASE! manufacturers, provide an option to turn off the beep. It's super annoying to so many people, yet most of these gadgets beep if you look at them. Not necessary. Another, even bigger UI mistake is touch control buttons. Makes me wonder if anyone actually tested this thing in the kitchen. I brush against the "MAX" button inadvertently and my eggs are burned! There is a lock function, but locking and unlocking the UI every time you need to adjust heat is silly and not going to happen. Another really bad sin of this device is at max power it produces a fairly unpleasant odor of burnt electronics. I am not sure if that's temporary and will wear off as the unit is used more, but there is no place for that smell in my kitchen when I am cooking delicious things! I have so far tested a few of these devices from different manufacturers and they all seem to have a similar set of no-nos: 1. Bad user interface (buttons that are not useful or that trigger dangerous actions when cooking) 2. Small heating surface. Many advertise 6.5" and 8" surfaces, but if you look at your ring of boiling water in the pan, you'll see it's about 5" and the outside of that is not that hot. 3. Noxious smell at full power. Major no-no! This is a food prep device not a soldering iron. I am still in search of a good usable induction cook top as I do believe induction cooking is awesome. This one has too many failings for me. Though the price and construction are pretty great. I have tested a unit at twice the price with exactly the same failings.

This is possibly the most useful kitchen appliance i own. It uses induction heating (not all pot materials will work) so it is safer than fire or heating coils. The controls are simple to use and the whole thing is easy to clean with a damp cloth or mild disinfectant cleaner. There is a built in exhaust fan underneath that blows out the back (away from the controls).Keep that in mind if you are thinking about a spot to put it in your home/apartment/cabin/van or whatever living arrangement you may plan on using it. The usefulness of this is far greater than the cost associated with it. I highly recommend this to anyone who may need an extra burner or currently have none and may be looking to save having to do a big install/rennovation. TLDR: Great as an additional cooking surface or as a primary/sole burner. Must be induction compatible pots.

It didn't work even once.

My kitchen is under renovation and I haven't had a working stove for a month. I bought this to use in my laundry room/temporary kitchen. It's perfect for the job - it's very stable on the counter and the controls are very clear with a separate on/off and temperature knob; it gets extremely hot for stir frying/or a steak etc if desired or boiling water for pasta; and on a low setting it's suitable for soups or a slow-cooking stew. I placed it on a large baking sheet covered in tin foil to help make any splattering easier to clean up.

I purchased this cook-top to use with my generator due to many power outages. It boils water rapidly and it heats up quickly. Very easy to clean. When I removed it from the box, the small rubber feet below the cook-top fell off. Make sure to check that the rubber feet are there. They are not well fastened into their slot. The cook-top uses allot of wattage on high power. Make sure either your electrical panel or generator can manage the wattage. The sound of the fan in the cook-top is loud. So don't be surprised. I love that once I'm finished using it, that it cools down rapidly. So no chance of accidental burns. I recommend this cook-top

I like this product because does what the advertisement said. I love truthful marketing so the customer doesn’t have to go through the process of returning or giving up on what they thought might accomplish.
