When erasing your loop to start again, is there a way to avoid the loop playing for a second?

Double-click and hold to delete/erase/clear a loop silently.

How do I get my looping time to be longer?, I’ve seen videos of people with the same looper and the spiny red light is slower and mine is faster

Just record longer. The spinning light isn't a timer

Is this pedal used for doing solos over rythm?

Yes, solo over rhythm is one thing you can do with it. You can try things over your rhythm and erase what you don't want or is not quite right. I took a lesson where they recorded multiple sounds over a rhythm sample for effects and not just for solo. Very kewl pedal!

Can it tune a bass if so how many strings

Yes, I've used it to tune a 4 string bass.
