The handleset was fine, but not the correct size. While this looked like a direct replacement for my old, worn out handleset, my old one had a measurement of 11" from the center of the door knob (center of the big hole) to the lower support hole. This handleset was much shorter, so that would mean filling & drilling new holes, then refinishing the door. Kwikset isn't forthcoming on these measurements. A new door, no problem as you use the template to drill new holes. Old door & replacing the old handset? Yes, problems! By the way, the Kwikset Arlington model does have the 11" measurement. It's the only one.I have used the key feature on these locks and being able to key the new lock to use the old Kwikset key is really nice and easy.

We wanted to replace our 20 year old Kwikset Montara front door lock set because it was looking a bit worn. The new one fit exactly to the existing holes, and works great. We would recommend this Kwikset lock set to anyone looking for a quality product that will last for at least 20 years.

Great and excellent security

Less than a year old. Will be returning this. There is something mechanical wrong. This lock will lock you in your house and out of your house. The lock has a button to rotate 90 degrees to lock the handle. Some times this sticks. If the door shuts when this happens and the door shuts you can’t get out of the house. If you are trying to get in the house the key will not help you. The solution is to wiggle and jiggle it with a lot of force e from the inside of the house to unlock/ unstick it.
