My husband and I met due to our mutual love of anime
My husband and I met due to our mutual love of anime. Complete and utter nerds? Yes, yes we are. But MUTUAL nerds so it all worked out. We stopped watching anime eventually (children have a habit of sucking the fun out of time consuming activities like staring at a screen for hours on end) but that doesn't mean that our love of many aspects of Japanese culture vanished. For example, we love udon. We eat with chopsticks at every opportunity. And we've both lusted after owning a kotatsu for YEARS. Honestly, in the decade and a half or so we've been together it's one of the things we've always wanted. But the buggers are EXPENSIVE and you need to have adaptors, fancy covers, places to sit your butt, etc. Then I discovered that you can sort of fashion your own. Look, we live in the midwest, right? It gets friggin COLD here and since winter's been too drunk to go home till May these past few years, it feels like it we've finally embarked on that threatened newest ice age. This fall we put together our kotatsu using this and a couple other supplies and holy friggin cow, this thing is amazing. We topped the table with a fleece blanket and an (Amazon basics cheapo) king-sized comforter and put a carpeted warmer underneath. Strapped this thing to the coffee table with some stainless steel exhaust wrap coated locking cable zip ties. Took a bit of finangling but the whole thing works AMAZINGLY together. Finally my tootsies are warm! Yes, it's horizontal, and yet it's not recommended to do that, but honestly it doesn't seem to have affected anything. The heat isn't intense, it's nice and comforting, and coupled with the carpeted heated mat beneath it's so cozy and warm I've literally contemplated sleeping under the thing. Add in the hi/lo temperature control switch and the whole thing works really, really well. I'll update some time next year if the setup lasts the winter and continues working as well as it has thus far.

Great low wattage heater
I have a few of these to keep my plants and small spaces warm. It has an internal heat cut-off at 150 degrees, but I use it with a more sophisticated heat controller. I have it set to 75 degrees and works well as an plant heater. The heater is made of thick metal with paint on the outside. The heat is concentrated toward the center, but the metal helps radiate it out to the edges, but definitely gets hotter in the middle. The back side does not get hot, but gets slightly warm. So, its safe to place on a surface. It is strong product and I place a couple 1'x1' concrete patio tiles on top of it to store the heat and dissipate it bit more. Overall very happy with this heater. Uses about 130w when it is on. They don't put out much heat, but for small spaces or to prevent freezing, its great.

Works better then expected .
Mine measured 22 3/4 by 16 1/2 with the plug as shown which is why box says 24 1/2 to leave room for chord.. and the instructions say to not mount horizontal but vertical unlike the pictures . It says not to use in damp areas . I bought it for the bathroom like many here . It would not fit where I wanted it behind my toilet but I was able to mount it on the sink cabinet next to it . The cord is fairly long I am sorry I didn't measure it and it is installed . This thing throws off good heat inspite of what some say but you do have to be close . I have a 6 by 10 foot bathroom and one next to the toilet warms it a noticeable amount though only a few degree's and if I leave the door closed overnight you can feel the difference again a few degrees but it helps . I like the hot towel idea but no room or outlet for it . I didn't get the stand because of its footprint but otherwise all you get is a little Velcro with a taped sides to mount it . I recommend obtaining one if the size is not a problem and I may still as it is a prime item and takes 2 days to arrive . The Velcro is not adequate you get 2) 2 by one inch pieces and some little cleaning cloths . Will update more later . Took one star off for limitations on mounting especially to vertical only . If I was in a cold office I would get the foot mat first and then one or two of these for under the desk and I bet you would feel a true difference . Hook them all on one switch with a timer . The panel is one sided the back is unfinished with print you do not want facing out . The business side looks nice it is all metal enclosed casing . Lazer heat gun puts the temp of the middle of the heater at 125 degrees F with the edges about 98 . It warmed the right side of the toilet up to 80 with the far side a few degrees above the tile temps of 61 before . I didn't feel compelled to turn on the in fan heater I have in the ceiling that is 1500 watts if that holds true it should pay for itself and be useful for me about 3 months a year in the dead of winter . I recently had my bathroom tiled and I am very sad I didn't have heat tape put in the floor . The bathroom is a add on to my home of " unknown origin " built decades ago and when we tiled the whole room it gets cold and radiates it when it is in the teens outside or lower . This was bought to try to keep the chill down when using the bathroom in the middle of the night or taking a shower in the morning . I have IBS and am sensitive at times to high heat but this is comfortable set only 8 inches from my toilet and keeps the cold tile chill down to tolerable levels especially with the timed ceiling heater . However I stress it will do nothing to raise room temps unless the door is kept closed and one just barely feels the heat sitting 8 inches from it ...for me it is just enough to stop the shivers I was having on cold mornings . The 250 watt one may of been a better choice but the size was too large for me . I am thinking of doing the hot towel rack by mounting one of these on the wall with Jumbo 3 mmm command strip products . Only hanging a towel during a shower then putting it on a rack away from the heater to dry or on the shower curtain rod . There is a on off switch in the chord that is lighted so you know when it is on . If I was in a office I reiterate buy the foot mat first then one of these if your legs will be within about 8 inches or less from it as it will not raise the temp at all in a office . I am lucky to get 2 degrees in a closed bathroom overnight but it does help in my application and I can feel light heat when I sit next to it on the throne . For heat a 400 watt would be perfect for a bathroom and they need to be mounted low about 6 inches off the floor . They make all different sizes so check it all out and the ratings they suggest . This is made for under desks just to take the chill off legs within several inches . The table idea is a good one too .

Doesn't take the chill off. At all.
My floor is chilly, my room is admittedly drafty, but the heat from this thing is only detectable if I put my bare foot right on the surface, and then it's a little too hot for comfort. Ridiculously impractical. I also bought the separate stand, which was not the greatest quality BTW. It holds the heater right next to my legs, and still I cannot feel a bit of heat! If I can't send this heater back (and I guess I don't know on what grounds that would be, since it's probably not defective, just utterly inadequate for my workspace), maybe I'll see if I can use it in a DIY kotatsu. Not happy though! Last year, for another space, I bought an Econ-Heat wall panel. In comparison, that one works great to heat up a small room. Of course, the EH has higher wattage than this CL product. Silly me, I thought they'd perform in a similar way, and that the CL would be great if it were right next to my legs and feet. Nope.

Just warm enough
I work in my basement, in New England, in the winter. It gets chilly in my office. tucking this under my desk makes for warmer work days, especially when coupled with another 150 watt space heater across the room and the overhead fan circulating the air. Much more efficient, and cost efficient to run a 150. watt unit under my desk than it is to run a 1500 watt oil filled one. Super simple. : plug it in and turn it on. doesn’t have the burning dust smell the oil filled units have, either. My only gripe was that it didn’t come with legs - those were a separate purchase.

eh...
Yes - It heats up. No - You won't feel the heat from it more than about 6 inches away from it. I have poor circulation to my feet. For years I've been searching for the best way to keep my feet comfortable in the winter at both of my desks (office and home). In both places I work on top of a concrete slab with low-pile carpeting (no pad). Once it gets to 45 deg.F outside, I start getting cold feet (in socks and shoes, or thick socks and slippers). I've tried numerous forced air heaters. Too often these little space heaters throw off too much heat and use too much energy, or they burn themselves up in a year. At my office I have a corner, so I have 2 outside walls to deal with. It will often be about 48 deg.F under my desk in the winter. I'm now using a pair of Lasko #100 MyHeat Personal Ceramic Heater, and it helps. At home I have a Vornado and this Cozy Legs Flat Panel Heater - often running them both at the same time. I tried the panel heater as suggested: mounted to the vanity panel on my desk - no noticeable comfort. I tried it on the sideboard of my desk (closer to my legs) and only noticeable comfort on the leg closest to it. Today I laid the panel flat on the floor (I know the directions say not to) and my legs and feet are much happier - as long as I wear my slippers to keep my feet from getting too hot, and as long as I keep my feet and legs over the panel. I don't see this as a long-term solution. My next trick will be a heating blanket on the floor at home. 3 settings and an auto-off timer. Maybe I'll try this panel heater at my office to warm a section of cold wall.

Heat is OK. The problem is that despite cleaning the panel with the supplied alcohol swabs, the adhesive pulls away eventually from the panel. It has fallen after an hour or so of use. I had it mounted on the side of a short rolling file cabinet and the adhesive sticks fine there. The amount of velcro supplied is not sufficient or the heat weakens the bond. I was aware of this issue from other reviews before I bought the panel. I'll try some industrial strength velcro and will roughen the panel surface before I try sticking that on. This is something the supplier should be able to fix though. I gave it two stars for having to go out to buy something else to make it work as advertised.

Excellant for Chickens!
GREAT Product!!! I bought it for my "Chicken Pen" & it works Perfectly!!!! I don't have to worry about a hanging heat lamp causing a fire. I hung the Cozy heat panel on the wall, about 6 inches above the floor. The chickens hundle around it during the cold nites. The panel gets warm, but not hot. I use it with the "TC-3 Cold Weather Thermo Cube" so that during warm weather it will shut off automatically. The ONLY bummer was when I went to reorder 2 months later, the price had INCREASED $13 It really is a GOOD product, guess I have to bite the bullet & pay the new price.

Not enough heat provided.
The unit suppose to provide heat and really creative a cozy environment under the table , as it was advertised. In the reality there is very little heat, or comfort comes out when using the device.

Works well, but get the stand (sold separately)
The short, sticky velcro tabs looked unlikely to do the job of holding the heater up; would they hold the heater when it was hot? They didn't. The glue started melting when things got really hot, even though they were placed as far from the heated area as possible. I bought the stands to solve the problem. Other than that, it does what it says.
