Chemistry Essentials For Dummies (9781119591146) was previously published as Chemistry Essentials For Dummies (9780470618363). While this version features a new Dummies cover and design, the content is the same as the prior release and should not be considered a new or updated product. Whether studying chemistry as part of a degree requirement or as part of a core curriculum, students will find Chemistry Essentials For Dummies to be an invaluable quick reference guide to the fundamentals of this often challenging course. Chemistry Essentials For Dummies contains content focused on key topics only, with discrete explanations of critical concepts taught in a typical two-semester high school chemistry class or a college level Chemistry I course, from bonds and reactions to acids, bases, and the mole. This guide is also a perfect reference for parents who need to review critical chemistry concepts as they help high school students with homework assignments, as well as for adult learners headed back into the classroom who just need to a refresher of the core concepts. The Essentials For Dummies Series Dummies is proud to present our new series, The Essentials For Dummies . From algebra and chemistry to grammar and Spanish, our expert authors focus on the skills students most need to succeed in a subject. Review: It was helpful - Fun guide for mastering foundational chemistry concepts. It simplifies challenging topics like atomic structure, chemical bonding, reactions, and acids/bases into digestible sections. The book is especially beneficial for students in high school or introductory college courses, as well as adult learners needing a refresher. Its practical examples and clear language make it a favorite among those who find chemistry intimidating. Review: I'm learning/relearning - This is a good book for the absolute basics in chemistry is not that difficult to follow at all. I will be starting a PhD soon and I will be require d to do some geochemistry course. I want to strengthen my foundations in chemistry and this is the perfect book. Only 197 pages long been taking my notes in the margins I am about half way through and I hope to finish and do a quick review of all the chapters. After the fundamentals are do I think I will be ready for the regular book "Chemistry for dummies" I will say this. The for dummies series of books is quite helpful to build from the ground up. I have a copy of botany for dummies as well.

Extremely useful, to the point, and excellent!
I hadn't looked at a chemistry book in years. I had done well in high school, but had forgotten everything I'd learned. I developed an interest in building things, and felt it would be useful to brush up on my chemistry. This book made it a snap. I never understood why introductory Chemistry took 2 high school semesters. The material can be learned in a few days. This book is written simply, lays the concepts out simply, and made review a breeze. I would think it would be just as useful for primary learning of the subject. I highly recommend it.

Excellent high level knowledge. Great refresher.
I am a graduate student who got involved in some coursework that involved some chemistry. Since I only had one chemistry course during undergrad from 5 years ago, this book was an excellent refresher on necessary topics in chemistry. Don't expect this to be an exhaustive or perfect explanation on the entire field chemistry. But it does exactly as advertised by outlining necessary/general concepts seen in a high school or undergraduate chemistry course.

ACS Exam Review
I have to take the American Chemistry Society General Chemistry Exam for my chemistry class, so I need to review all three quarters of the general chemistry series. This book is great! It is a great refresher and it is not at all dry, like my chemistry textbook. I love the little jokes the author put in here and how the topics were made relatable using real life examples. This is a great book! I highly recommend it! I'm glad I'll have it to review for the MCAT in a few years too!

I'll go with Kindle next time (better than newspaper)
For the price, it's a good little reference (content-wise), but being the size of a paperback novel at one half the thickness and made from what feels like newspaper for pages... I'd be happier with an electronic version after all. The electronic would be easier to read, frankly.
