I bought the Roofull External DVD-RW Drive to watch the DVD versions of the TV series LANDMAN. It comes in a nice soft-sided carrying case that zips closed. An external pocket on the case contains a connecting cord that has a USB 3.0 connector on one end and a USB-C connector on the other end. That small pocket also zips closed. I did not need that cord, as a connecting cord is already attached to the player--this cord folds neatly into a slot on the bottom of the player. The connecting cord has both a USB 3.0 connector and a USB-C connector on it. I used the USB-C connector since I could set the DVD player right next to my laptop, which is a Dell 13" XPS computer. I called up a DVD player app; inserted the DVD of the series in the player; and the episodes displayed immediately on the laptop screen. I clicked on the episode I wanted, and the player started immediately. The player worked perfectly and was very easy to connect to the laptop. I was extremely satisfied with the purchase--good value for the price.

Nice simple unit to run DVD/CD on a laptop. Most new laptops do not have a CD drive anymore. But I have numerous CD with photos on and need a way to edit/copy/print them. This unit is perfect. Plugs into a USB-A and works. When not needed goes back into a nice, included case until next time. Recommended.

Like most external optical drives this one seems fragile. Handle with care. But it DOES work flawlessly when used with gentleness and discernment. The first one I received malfunctioned; it would not eject a disk in the drive. I returned that unit and requested a replacement. No instructions were included with either unit, but the Roofull people sent me an email of instructions after my return. This unit has a data USB cable and a power USB cable. It seems the power USB cable should be connected BEFORE the data USB cable is connected. That is the only difference in my use of the two units. The second unit has performed flawlessly. I give it less than 5 stars because instructions are not included in the package and the average user would make the same mistake I did when connecting the USB cables. The price was good and the operation is good, I recommend this product!

I was a little nervous about ordering this, since it was going to be connected to a MAC computer. When I received it, I opened it, connected to the Mac and it worked great. I can listen to music, look at pictures and enjoy a DVD. The case it comes in is very nice and padded. I rarely rate a purchase with Five Stars, but this definitely is a five star product.

The 5 stars is mostly for customer service as I haven’t used the drive a lot yet. Original drive came and eject button would not work so I couldn’t get a disc in the drive. I contacted the seller and they had me do one quick troubleshooting step which did not fix the issue and so they sent me a new drive which arrived 2 days later. The new drive connected to my MacBook Air and worked immediately, no issues at all. As I said I haven’t used it a lot yet, but it seems to work as intended. Their customer service was extremely prompt and easy to deal with.

Unlike another one I bought previously (which didn't work no matter what I tried) - this one worked out of the box. TIP for Mac users - plug it in using the old-fashioned USB connector, not the USB-C. Get a simple USB-to-USB-C adapter and plug in. For me, the C-connection did not work. I tried the regular USB with a C-adapter - because my laptop doesn't have a regular USB port - and it worked! Ripped an old DVD that I really needed like a pro. Plays DVD's great, too - both official and self-burned. Great device - well done, folks!

I needed an external CD/DVD drive for my laptop that doesn’t have a built-in one, and this ROOFULL drive works exactly as expected. It connected instantly with the USB cable — no extra software needed. I was able to read old CDs and also burn a DVD without any issues. i just bought this product and it is really so good and easy to use , easy portable as well as coming with nice good looking bag which can help me to carry along when travel . the best thing that i like that does not need any driver to play .. so i can use all my DVDs with no problem to worry .

Works just fine but I don't know why they don't have a longer wire. I've broken 2 of them because they fall off the computer.

Quality seller, item delivered safely (well packaged) after ordering. Great communication from seller with follow-up email to check satisfaction with product and copy of manual for the item. Simply plugged it into my pc and started working.

This little external DVD player is just what I needed, to look at all my old discs finally! It is simple to use, love that it comes with a case for protection, and the cords compatibility is perfect! It runs images at a good speed and works great.
