Genuine Mazda (N3R1-14-302) Oil Filter Cartridge

Was looking for an equivalent to the Subaru OEM filter which is no longer made in Japan. This one is made by the same JDM supplier as the earlier Subaru part with the correct bypass pressure and fits the Subaru EJ25.

Use on Subaru Outback 2003 and 2005. Work perfect and higher quality than Subaru oem. Made in Japan.

It's really difficult finding the Japanese-made oil filters for Subaru. For whatever reason these Mazda filters are readily available though and are the exact same filter.

Well in other words. Your oil capacity improves due to a bigger, better filter and this filter is THISTY. Just how I like them. I was able to fully fill it up 4 times. Yes 4. I've never seen a filter media soak that much oil before installing it. I did realize that this may cause my oil level to jump up a few days later when the oil eventually seeps away from the filter media though haha No biggie really. Anyone who owns a WRX knows that oil goes decently fast in them but only when you drive them hard. If you don't drive them hard, before this filter I always only lose about half a dip stick of oil by the time it's oil change at 3200-3400 miles. I actually extend a little more now to almost 3800 because I use the best oil Motul.

This is the exact OEM oil filter for the S2 RX8! It comes in the Mazda dealer packaging as well, you shouldn't have any leakage as long as you aren't overtightening the filter or accidentally double stacking the filter gaskets, always double check. The cost is great at $13 a filter, I prefer the OEM filter over any other aftermarket filter options.

I run these on my Subaru EJ25 motor. The guys on Bobistheoilguy did a tare down and determined these are really great filters. Also the bypass valve is correct for the Subaru motor. Subaru used to sell this model of filter at their dealership until they switched to a new supplier. I'm at 205k on my 2006 Legavy GT and it's always had one of these filters on it.

I use for my 2008 Subaru Outback, same model they use in Japan for the Subarus. Slightly taller than US oem one, holds bit more oil.

I use it for my Subaru WRX STI 2016. It fits great and should work better, than the OEM filter. But beware of using tools to tighten this thing up, the metal case is very thin and will deform easily. So tighten it by hand only.

Genuine factory filters

Great product. Using these in my Subaru STI. It comes with a washer for a Mazda oil pan (obviously) but the filter itself fits the STI perfectly and has more capacity than the OEM filter. Just need to buy some washers that will fit the STI oil pan. Will definitely be buying more of these in the future.

Perfect quality and fit for 2023-2024 Subaru OBW or any Subaru 2.4 L turbo engine! Way better quality than expensive blue filter!

Hard to believe that its necessary to buy OEM Mazda oil filters to get a quality oil filter for a Subaru, I refuse to drink the "cardboard end caps are superior" Kool-aid that defenders of Fram oil filters promote (the OEM oil filters that the Subaru dealers sell are made by Fram and are the typical mediocre garbage with cardboard end caps tbat are probably OK for GM/Ford/Fiat-Chrysler front front wheel drive garbage but surely not for anything of quality).
