Integy DIY Steel Roll Cage Tube Frame Chassis for 2.2 Rock Crawler (AX10, WK etc.)

Great body for my Everest 10 build, little bit of tinkering to get everything to line up right. It doesn't come with directions so it's totally up to the builder. Completed this thing is one heck of a rock buggy for under $250. If your not a very mechanically inclined person this may be a bit of a challenge. The welds are just tack welds and some of the frame is cut short but it'll take a bashing, might have to fix some welds down the road but for now it's just fine. All in all if your thinking about making a custom crawler then this is a good place to start.

If you want to build a rock bouncer, and don't mind getting creative with mounting your battery and electronics, this frame is OK, but it lacks critical options for shock mounting as well as sufficient servo clearance for real performance. I wanted to build a U4 style RC rig, something that could go somewhat fast (up to 20mph or so) as well as rock crawl really well. I'd been running a very unique suspension set up on my SCX10 with trailing arms and leading arms, along with sway bars on both ends. It worked well, but the stock SCX10 chassis flexed a bit too much to keep handling predictable. Enter the Integy chassis. Frame flex is now an issue of the past. However, building the chassis into something usable took a great deal of creativity. The lack of additional shock mounts really holds this thing back. Another issue is the servo clearance. The Integy chassis leaves minimal clearance for the servo and I'm actually getting less front axle travel with the Integy chassis than I got on my stock SCX10 chassis. I used .060 Lexan to build an undercarriage for electronics, and went on to build body panels to make the rig look somewhat scale.

Great looking cage so far, welds are adequate. Scx10 skid and axles fit very nice, I think this would make a better 1.9 rig. If you don't like the shocks so vertical add longer links to put them wherever you want.

Very tight for chassis plate & electronics, ya have to be inventive with battery placement, (keep out of direct sunlight) I used a small 3s in an Axial battery plate, with zip ties, scale shocks, it's more if a trail rider than what i wanted, but it is adquite well in the right wether conditions, (fair wether), (my problem is, I live in a very sunny climate) so I need a body on it

Looks amazing, product itself is really sturdy and made well. However there's only one mounting point for the shocks and it causes torque twist and the shocks to bind and get stuck.

Fits my Everest 10 well. Needed to weld in a plate to mount my speed controller but it came out real nice. I have heard of these cages welds breaking but mine are all solid and fairly clean and the price is great

I'm not joking when I say a young child made it. I can't even see how someone could ship out absolute junk like this... Nothing is properly fit, most of the bars are too short and have long stringy welds holding them together - if you want to call it together. I'm pretty sure it was just laid out and goober welded together - no fixed jig was used. When I say goober welded, I mean it looks like a long piece of snot between the bars. Kind of like a 2 yr old with a runny nose and a booger hanging down a few inches from their nose. Same look. None of the bars match that should be parallel to each other - or equal and opposite angles. I almost think these are seconds that were dug out of the trash and sold... The only thing I can say that was done right is the width is close enough that it will fit an AX/SCX skid plate. I have a nice TIG welding setup and am going to hack this up and use it to practice on, then make something usable.
