Final Fantasy X X-2 HD Remaster Standard Edition Playstation 4

I enjoyed the game back in the PS2 era, and so when I felt nostalgic, I decided to go ahead and get this for the PS4 to remember how good the game could be. I had never played X-2 either, so I felt, eh, why not, right? I know that it is an HD remaster, but it is still very surprising just how beautiful the game looks. The shift in graphics was very noticeable (even borrowed a copy if FFX on the PS2 to compare), and though you can tell a lot of the models were made for the PS2 engine (particularly the face models of the non-main characters), everything from character models to the absolutely stunning backgrounds are gorgeous. The game feels quicker too, possibly thanks to better coding, or possibly just the engine of the PS4. And I have yet to even touch X-2 at the time of this review! I felt I should give a review of the stuff I had already played at the least. But oh, there is more to the game than the classic stuff. Included in the FFX game at the least are the international goodies. An updated Sphere Grid, the ever-popular Expert Sphere Grid, and the Superbosses! If you have never gotten to play the International version, let's just say being strong enough to beat the final bosses is the first baby step towards being strong enough to last a single turn against the Dark Aeons, much less Penance himself/herself/itself(?). Lots more to look forward to. Just hope you know some tricks for grinding! For anyone who was not much for Final Fantasy X (or any Final Fantasy, for that matter), this game is obviously not for you. But for fans and newcomers, this game really is worth the purchase.

This is an improved version of the original PS2 game. The game runs at 1080p, 16:9 widescreen and looks terrific. The face models of the main characters have been redone to look more like how the characters appear in CG cut-scenes and a lot of the textures, though not all, were upgraded to be less blurry and more detailed. Loading time is vastly improved from the original which makes battles fast and fun instead of a chore. The real treat here is an optional remastered soundtrack which is just phenomenal. You can always listen to the original music, but the remastered one is so incredibly well done and it really enhances the experience. The only feature missing is that the PS Vita port used the touch screen for an auto-heal function, but that is lacking here. It's hard to imagine why as that was a useful function to have. But not a big deal in the end. If you've never played the game then this is the definitive version. If you have the PS2 game it is worth it to re-experience this upgraded port. Even if you have a Vita, there's a lot of detail that's hard to miss on the small screen that really pops out on a big TV.

This game is a huge improvement on everything, not just better graphics. It has new in game features, new soundtrack and improved original soundtrack, lots of redesigned menus and windows, and many other things. Quality and shipping from Amazon was great. The only reason I gave it 1 star is due to the following bugs the game has (affects both X and X-2): 1. The RNG is not working. Most of the time if you reload after losing the enemies will appear in the same order, at the same steps, same attacks, same damage dealt and even same item drops. This makes the game unplayable because not only it becomes predictable and boring, the game sometimes requires you to reload to get rare items dropped by enemies which you wont get because they will just keep dropping the same thing. 2. After every battle the song playing restarts. So there's a new awesome soundtrack we only get to hear the first 10 seconds. I will be raising my review to 5 stars once Square Enix releases a patch to fix these issues, meanwhile I'll leave it like this to raise awareness. I already sent many email to them but they won't respond. UPDATE: Both the RNG and the music has been fixed in the recent 1.01 update!!!! YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!! Now go ahead and buy, this is a masterpiece worth every penny.

This game by itself is a one of my favorite games of all time. This game is a wonderful joy and I have purchased it on the PlayStation 2, The VITA, PS3 and my PS4 and I'd do it all over again. In my opinion, this is the best Final Fantasy game I have ever played (obviously). Review of the new/updated parts of the game: The Graphics: The graphics on this game was very good for it's time but now that it has been changed to fit 1080p and the main characters AND the textures have been enhanced this time around. So now we can relive this beloved tale on our widescreen tv's without it looking like it is actually a game made on the Playstation 2 (not an insult though) Music: The music in this game, the remastered or the original, one of the greatest in the series. The composers on this score did a fantastic job and whether you switch to the remastered or the original you will quickly fall in love with either one of them! There's only one issues with the music and I will leave that for a later category. Content: The new content is great! New bosses to fight in X! The new dark Aeons and find capturer/final mission are all new content for NA despite being in the Japanese version of the games. So that Penance monster, well it's ready to be fought as well and if you are daring enough you can also use the new sphere grid which pretty much gives you the option to take any character through any characters grid. Everyone starts in the middle of the sphere grid and with a few lvl 1 key spheres to use, you can start taking Yuna through Auron's section to become the brutal monster wrecker (minus piercing attribute). Essentially, you have the creative freedom to make the character's have certain starting abilities like jinx or steal/use combo. The new content is great to finally experience without having to purchase foreign PS2 and games. Issues: The only issues I have experienced this far is the music restarts after every battle. A game with the battle system the way it is makes it difficult to listen to the song you want if it has to restart after every battle. It is very disappointing but I still love the game. As for the RNG issue that I have read about, I have not encountered this issue yet as I have not had to reset/get game over-ed yet. However, as it seems that the BGM issues is still present, I do not think that the issue has been fixed yet and that is rather disappointing but it is still a great game either way. Overall: I highly recommend this game to new players and old returning players alike. If you like JRPGs, this is a great game that you can easily put 80+ hours into alone. (I made a save game literally just for blitzball and played over 50 hours of just blitzball... so yeah. Blitzball is great, they should make a game of just blitzball or put that into FF14). 10/10 would buy again and again and again and then cry again.

FFX is my all-time favorite game. I have it and FFX-2 on all platforms. I love how you can chooses the original soundtrack as I was not a fan of the remix. I have yet to get all the trophies, but this game is and will remain my favorite. I love the game play and the story. I have literally logged thousands of hours on this game. I played it through numerous times on the PS2 and once on the PS3. Working slowly on the PS4 (playing in between newer games) I have gotten all the celestial weapons, all the aeons, and filled the sphere grid every time I have played through. When I am bored and don't know what to play I'll throw this on andnpkay itnfor weeks at a time. Newer gamers might find turn based games a little boring, but its just right for me. Only downside was I didn't get the booklet in my new unused game......

Answer - I can't. Although not the best Final Fantasy games, X and X-2 were pretty huge for me in late high school and college. Sure, the protagonist of X is a bit whiny and annoying, sure the "girl power" motif of X-2 may turn some people off, but Final Fantasy's fighting/leveling systems as well as the world, art style, and (of course) Uematsu's music make this package a mindblowingly good update. Before release, I had relented to running my original copies of X and X2 via an emulator, but even though it looked pretty upscaled, textures were lacking and scenery/FMV sequences were pretty shoddy. This release solved all of that. You can tell Square put a decent amount of work into this reboot and I really appreciate it as a fan of the series. I picked the game up late (after the most recent patch), so I didn't run into the issues/bugs that a lot of other people have. So far, everything is working swimmingly and the nostalgia is strong. I couldn't be happier.

Jogo clássico, chegou tudo certo.

I love the Final Fantasy series and it is one RPG I play. Having a digital master copy makes me happy knowing that I have my favorite childhood game with me.

Final Fantasy 10 is my favourite Final Fantasy game. The story is amazing and the characters are memorable, I have a few copies of Final Fantasy 10 on the PS2, plus I have the HD version on the PS3. Bought the PS4 HD version, because I felt I needed to play it after being to the visuals have all been updated for the PS4. I would recommend it to any Final Fantasy fan.

ps2の方をクリアして以来です。 あの頃からストーリーが素敵で大好きでしたが、英語版もまた感動して涙する場面がいくつもありました。 10年以上たった今は英語版の方がより感動するのかも。 台詞がカッコよくきこえますし。 画像もとても綺麗になり、サクサクすすめたい気になります。 リマスター版出してくれてありがとうございました。感動を再びという感じです。
