Gatineau Clear and Perfect Purifying Powder Emulsion for Oily/Combination Skin, 1.6 Ounce

This moisturizer leaves a nice matte finish which was exactly what I was looking for. It is pricey so I probably won't buy it again despite the fact that I do like the texture and the matte finish. I just don't think the price is warranted.

I was pleased to receive a sample of Gatineau's products, as I have used their products in the past and been very impressed with them- although they are hold to get hold off so it is nice to know that Amazon stock them. I was initially intrigued by the product as the the product name is little confusing and unclear- I wasn't sure whether it was a moisturiser, mask, powder or primer until it arrived.On unpacking it became clear that despite the fact that it has powder in then title, it is a moisturiser, albeit one that is designed for congested, oily and enlarged pore prone skin. A kind of moisturiser which absorbs excess oil and shine, so acts a little like a mild primer too. It applies easily, and felt quite nice, although if you are used to a good heavy moisturiser you will notice a difference. I had wanted to try this product as the description led me to think it might be a generous sized primer of sorts, and it almost is. It did keep me shine free for the day and sat nicely on my skin. The moisturiser itself is a pale green tinge, which could be useful for counteracting redness, but it a tint, rather than a thick colour. It has a really lovely fresh smell, which is slightly more masculine that feminine but nothing that both sexes would find too overpowering or heavy. I would imagine that this would be fantastic if you suffer from oily skin from teenage onwards- although the price point would not be something teenage could necessarily afford. I suffered adult acne suddenly at age 30, and this would have been wonderfully smoothing at this point; now at 42 I have treatment to keep it under control, and whilst I appreciated the anti shine part, it wasn't personally moisturising enough for my skin. However if you are a bit younger - then you will probably really like this.

When I first looked at the name of this product, I wondered what on earth it was. Turns out it's not a powder (or emulsion paint!), but a moisturising lotion. The directions suggest applying to face and neck after your usual cleansing routine, morning and night.The lotion is quite runny and has a green tinge and a slightly odd smell that I couldn't place. It feels cooling on the skin and left my skin briefly tingling. After a few uses my skin did start to look a little less congested and a bit clearer, though I didn't notice any added radiance. I'm fairly impressed with the initial effects though and look forward to seeing how things progress.The price is pretty high for this, especially considering this isn't one of those products where a little goes a really long way. However if you have problem skin then it may be worth a try.

This is a premium brand usually only available through the salon network and hard to find in the UK. I have seen it in upmarket salons and shops in Europe/Russia. The quality is good. Consistency is thin but it feels a little heavy. It absorbs well.It's easy to apply out of the tube. It has a green colour which is designed to take redness off. It's good for drying up oiliness.Now to the price. I have tested skin products products more expensive than this one which I was convinced justified their price. With this one I am not convinced. You seem to be paying for presentation rather than quality.There is a huge amount of scientific research to backup skincare ingredients and a good product should give you information on the ingredients which independent sources will verify. You can't do that with this one.

I adore this product!!!Although I don't suffer from oily skin I do suffer from redness (sensitive skin) and blocked pores.This light cream smells divine!!! It is really light and absorbs into the skin easily - leaving it super soft and shine free!After 2 days I have already noticed a difference in my uneven skin tone, redness has reduced by at least 75%!!! My skin felt soft and hydrated from day 1.I had not heard of this brand before but I think it has been available online or on shopping channels for a while.I have been using it morning ( after a gentle exfoliator) and night and also using a little of the DEFI LIFT 3D performance cream.Lovely fragrance and great results!
