Great Product!
I put this product on my new redwood gate and fence. I used a pump sprayer and a wood stain brush to even it out. Using both of these made it a very easy application! I used about 2-1/2 gallons for 54 linear feet. So I still have a half gallon for any touch ups… it ended up giving the redwood a dark rich color no orange color. I read in another review that it was difficult to take off the safety sealer on the can. It was very easy just using a pair of channel lock pliers. U-tube also has a lot of information about the product! I wood highly recommend using this product on any outdoor wood you would like to seal.

Beautiful color , great product, get what you pay for in this product.
What we like is the product. The quality of the product is far superior to other stains and protection products out on the market . It beads up well in the hard rain and salt water wind near the bodies of water we are near . Save you self some time, money, headache. Get a dollar store Turkey baster & 10 oz spray bottle and spray and brush it on . Otherwise your going to be very un happy with the pattern and amount this comes out in with a traditional pump sprayer. It goes 1/2 far and looks like @&$& on the fence .The downside - Ignore the over abundance of warning labels. They are so very horrible. I would have sent these four cans back but husband insisted to use the product. Wind warning states will spontaneously combust, one warning states will turn into gel and thicken after you open it . Why on earth would you put a product on a wooden fence that is going to catch on fire if in direct sunlight or “ Spontaneous combustion” . However , it’s a great company get product, great shipping, secure product so it didn’t get damaged in shipping. I would recommend this product if you don’t read the labels .

Great for preserving the Ipe wood on my deck
An effective wood treatment, but you must follow the directions. No two coats and wipe your work down thoroughly. A local chain stopped carrying it because so many homeowners didn't follow the instructions and complained about the results. So, Amazon supplied it in a timely manner.

Natural is Best
Can't wait for it to arrive and get my project done before it snows!

Love this product, I refuse to use anything else!
I've been using this product for 12 years on cedar shakes homes, log homes, cedar lawn furniture, decks and basically any wood that is exposed to the elements. It's a penetrating oil, not a stain and can penetrate even mahogany up too ⅛ inch!! It has a very high VOC content. VOC is to wood as SPF is to sunscreen. Higher VOC= longer lasting protection. Great product. Like i said, it's a penetrating oil, not a stain so be sure to look up the difference and practice applying before using.

Allow plenty of time to get the lid off!
I’ve used the product dozens of times and I already know I will love it. However, it arrived with a patented, made in the USA, plastic ring on the top of the can clearly designed to keep the can from accidentally opening during transit. And just like so many other patented and made in the USA items, it absolutely works. I nearly put my eye out with everything from various pry bars, small saws, nail pullers and nearly a blow torch trying to get the phenomenally successful anti-spill device off the dang can. I actually had the blow torch lit when I noticed the various warnings regarding the high flammability of the product and went begrudgingly back to the nippers to nibble on it. Ultimately, thankfully, after a little over half an hour, persistence, as it often does, won out. Now, with a brush and a pile of potentially flaming rags here beside me, I am ready to begin. For a while there I thought I might have to return it. I can guarantee you, it won’t spill if you do.Quick update: I added a before and after photo demonstrating the look of the product on a cedar Adirondack chair I just built. (The ‘finished’ chair is on the left.) I thought you might want to know what the ‘clear’ red can Penofin actually does to everyday cedar.Tip! Be certain you wipe down your project with a clean, lint free rag (I use an old sock) even if it looks like you don’t need to when you are done.

Does what it says
We used this to give a light stain and to seal cedar staves of a indoor hot-tub. Overall, it did a good job. But the cedar pulled it into itself causing uneven portions on the wood. (We stopped at the top; the interior was not to be stained.) I do not think this is the fault of the Penofin, just the wood itself. We're hoping that the Penofin will stop the cedar from turning gray. We won't know our success or it's durability for another year or two...

beauty
Perofin goes on easily and looks great on fir and cedar, and it doesn't make either look too orange .
