Mom's Best Old Fashioned Oats, Hot Cereal Made with Whole Grain Oats, 42 OZ Canister

This is a large pack of old fashioned oatmeal, that has a really good nice oatmeal taste to it, and isn't weak tasting like the cheap store brands you get, that has oatmeal but the flavor somehow seems to be missing. This is a hearty and filling meal, and the large package provides a lot for what you're getting. If you could get a good price on this, this is very convenient to make. To make this is pretty simple, you just put a certain amount of water in a pot, and once it's boiling you add your oatmeal and stir it in, and then I recommend turning it down off the boiling setting to kind of like a medium simmer (otherwise it might boil or foam over), and then let it cook for 5 to 7 minutes. The amount of time you cook it actually affects the what you get when this is over, and adjust the quick time longer if you like it more creamy and thick. But really just about 5 minutes is enough, especially if you got a busy morning. I suggest adding in things to it to make it even more enjoyable, such as brown sugar, fruit, or nuts. As for the health aspect of this, every doctor I've ever met always says you should start your morning off with a bowl of oatmeal, as my mother was a nurse and I regularly was in the hospital visiting her, it was surprising how often they had all the doctors eating oatmeal for breakfast in the cafeteria. I must say I definitely agree, because a bowl of oatmeal like this really helps you don't get hungry right away during the day and provides good energy. The doctor said it's good for your heart or something like that, and you can find more about that online. So this is something good to have every day, and personally I like to have it with other things for breakfast as I'm a bigger person. It helps mellow out everything else in my system. But to be fair, it is actually good to have at other times of the day too, so don't rule out having oatmeal for dinner once in a while. It's easy on your stomach. This is a good quality product, but as for my value recommendation it is very hard for this item. I've gotten this for quite a few years, and I must say that the price of this fluctuates widely for what it is. At times it is below $4 to $5, and other times it's well over $12 if not up to the $15 Mark. So your value for it really jumps around. I would just recommend patience on buying it, because this is a good product for getting. As for the quality of this, I can definitely recommend it and I have no problems with it. You get a good quantity with this, and what you get in the package is consistent over years. This is good oatmeal.

On my first purchase, I bought 4 at once, and I was impressed with the high-quality of this oatmeal. Very nutritional. I make it with milk, eat it with fruits, nuts and a touch of cinnamon, it's incredibly satisfying. It arrived on time, unopen, It's affordable and healthy for you. I do recommend this brand of oatmeal.

This is the best oatmeal that I have ever tried in my life. It is super creamy and never lumpy. I had read that it was very good so I purchased two large containers based on faith and I am so glad that I did! I now eat oatmeal every morning. I typically make it in boiling water but tomorrow I will try making it in 2% milk to see if there is any difference in taste. I usually add cinnamon and a couple of sugar substitute packs and I'm good.

Love the product, but unhappy with packaging with tops torn and oatmeal out of container and in outer box. Not at all happy with that!

Oatmeal is in general good. Packing for shipping? Not do good. Lids on both burst off , oatmeal all oner inside the box. Cheaper to buy in a store if this continues

I really like this brand, and for the price it is a bargain! Fast shipping, but they packed the oatmeal in with a large bottle of detergent, and it broke the cereal box. A portion of it was all over the inside of the box. The box held up, thank goodness. They should ship those separately.

I bought this Mom's Best oatmeal as a replacement for the organic brand because the organic wasn't on sale. I wanted to try it to see how how it tastes. I used the same cooking method as the organic one...and after 4 mins in the "nuker" it rested for 30 mins covered and the texture and flavor is amazing. Very creamy, which is something I was only able to achieve with the organic brand a few times (been eating oatmeal for breakfast for the past 3-4 years). Maybe all the pesticides and chemicals and GMOs they add to this Mom's Best oatmeal made it so creamy and tasty but I'm willing to buy more after this container is gone. I read thru the 1 star reviews and most of them are for the amazon delivery how the container was split opened. Nothing to do with the quality the oats. Anyway, Give it a try and taste the oats.

The oats are great. But, 50% of the time, the packaging breaks in transit and oats spill out all over the place. This morning, I found loose oats on the floor of our package room, in the locker the box was stored in, and the box itself. This is completely unacceptable! Buy another brand!
