Great BCD BUT.....
This was the first BCD I owned and it was a great design especially if you are a big fellow. This is a big, heavy BCD not a big deal but there is one major drawback. This vest has a big inflation volume. It is somewhat difficult to get all the air out on ascent but the real hidden danger is how this back inflating BCD works on the surface. It's okay in flat fresh water situations but, Inflated much beyond eye level with the water, the Nighthawk has a tendency to push the diver's face down in the water. Very difficult to float on your back too. Not good if you are in rough seas as I was and waiting for the boat to come get us. I had to get higher in the water and the boat was way off in the distance. I was running low on air had to go to my snorkel but, could not inflate the vest to get me beyond eye level because the vest was pushing me down face first in 4-5 feet swells. Lucky, my dive buddy was there to hold me up. It's a real safety issue.

Great BCD
I have over 400 dives on this BCD in all sorts of water; cold Great Lakes, warm Caribbean, rough seas. it's great. ScubaPro makes good stuff. It's kinda heavy for travel (think my L weighs about 9#) but that hasn't stopped my from taking it on about 20 trips. If you don't know about back-inflate BCs or have never dove one, rent or borrow first.(Don't buy one & write a bad review 'cause you don't know what you're doing)Dive, dive, dive!
