throwing a covid friendly outdoor 60th bday party...are these big enough for a side ceasar salad with dinner?

Our 32oz bowls are great for serving personal salads, though it may be a bit big for a side salad. I suggest using our 5" x 5" clam-shell plastic trays, they would be perfect for a small side salad! To find them enter B0892Q3YBW in your amazon search bar.

Can you put hot food in these?

No you cannot put hot food in these containers.

How do these do if heating something like soup in a microwave? Do they hold up or do they melt?

I wouldn't bother. These are not rated for high temperatures at all. It's a salad bowl. Soup bowls are typically made with a different material, usually a stiff, coated cardboard, or maybe a styrofoam that's rated for high temps. Think Cup O'Noodles. This is a rather thin, flimsy plastic. Great for salads. I wouldn't trust it with 200 degree soup though.

are these bowls manufactured by YES Plastics?

We don’t wash them first. No problems, they are very clean out of the package.
