Canoeing and Kayaking Florida (Canoe and Kayak Series)

Most travel adventure books read like they have been prepared by the Chamber of Commerce, all glitz and no gravity. This book, on the other hand, was cram full of useful and hard to find information, which no one could provide who had not experienced it personally. My wife and I are taking the advice offered and using this as a valuable resource when planning our excursions.

Best Florida guide book. It really gives you what you need to paddle each place. This is my third copy purchased to share with friends. Great info on the best places to paddle!

This is a helpful book but not complete (as with most all books). I would add it to my library!

Very interested in paddling some of Florida's spring fed creeks, one of which was the Wakualla. I was unware that the best stretch of this river was not open to canoes in the state park area. Thanks to this book, I saved a tank of gas and a bunch of frustration from a trip I had begin planning a week or two earlier. It is always best to consult with the locals but this book is the next best thing and well worth its price.

We love to Kayak and have found this book to be excellent. Great maps and good descriptions about how to find launches. Nev er knew some of these places existed.

This is a good guide packed full with good info. You are going to need to buy a DeLorme atlas for Florida along with it. The maps in the book are pretty scant.

This book is ok/average....it will get you to the launch site. It is a rather borish read. Wish the author would take the reader with him while paddling a particular waterway. This book is mostly a ' how to get there' information book rather than a detailed map(s),campsite amenities, flora/ fauna,history of the area book....
