Hayward Super Pump InGround Pool Pump - 1 HP, Quieter Operation & Efficient

This motor was easy to install and very quiet when running. This motor comes with no cord, only a hook up for an existing cord. It is expensive so I hope it lasts. My last one lasted 8 years, so for the amount I can only hope. Would def recommend this motor.

We purchased the Hayward Super Pump 1 HP In-Ground Pool Pump as a replacement for our old Dura-Glass pump, which was originally installed prior to 1998. Our previous pump had been getting progressively noisier over the past couple of years, and over the last few months the noise had gotten significantly worse. We knew it was finally time to replace it, so we did quite a bit of research beforehand to make sure we selected a compatible replacement rather than having to redo our existing plumbing. The installation was surprisingly easy. This pump has a 2-inch inlet and 2-inch outlet, and it also comes with a 1.5-inch pipe reducer attachment. Our old setup had a 2-inch inlet and 1.5-inch outlet, so the Hayward was an easy swap with minimal changes needed to our existing plumbing. Having the reducer included was especially convenient and saved us from having to purchase an additional fitting. Once installed, the pump has been working great. The biggest improvement for us is how much quieter it is compared with our old pump. The difference is very noticeable, and it has made running the pool equipment much more pleasant. It has been running smoothly and provides the performance we were looking for in a replacement pump. The pump was also packaged very well. It arrived without any damage, and everything was in good condition when we opened the box. Installation instructions and the included fittings made getting everything set up straightforward. For the price, we feel this was a very good value. The cost was fair and in line with other pumps with similar specifications, and considering how well it performs and how much quieter it is than our old pump, we are very happy with the purchase. Overall, if you are replacing an older in-ground pool pump, I would definitely recommend doing some research on your existing plumbing and comparing the specifications before purchasing. For us, the Hayward Super Pump 1 HP turned out to be an excellent replacement, was easy to install, works great, and is dramatically quieter than what we had before. So far, we are very happy with it.

Delivery and packing was good and a day early. Problems with pump is several leaks. Filter section 2" connection continues to leak after 3 attempts to seal with fresh applications to increased Teflon tape. Note slight groove found in housing threads. Motor attachment screws were not secure and not noticed until after pump installation with massive spray coming out. Tightened but still small dripping leak. Drain plugs do not seal completely as designed. Pump runs well and powerful but the leaking is huge problem with casting flaws and factory Quality Control. This is not my first Rodeo with Haywood pumps as my last one was an excellent experience that lasted 16 years.

The motor was replaced easily and quickly. The man who takes care of the pool is very pleased with it.

The pump is super quiet and running great. The water circulation is very good. It replaced my prior super pump after 9 or 10 years of service. I am very happy with my purchase.

Exact replacement for my Hayward pool pump at a much reduced price compared to local suppliers. Used for one season without any issues.

Living in a small town my choice is limited but this one was at a much better price than any big city. Is fairly quiet and has work great so far, one season so far

We received the pump quickly but the wire to connect it was cut so short that we had to open the unit up and solder new wires onto the small stubs in order to connect it.

Pump looked ok, however it was mailed in a beat up box that said Dartboard kit on it and barely had and interior packaging so it was loose and sideways when received. Returned it, was shocked how poorly it was packaged considering it was an expensive product
