Powerful and Sublime
The dynamic range of these beasts is superb. I bought two units and wired the woofers to the surround and the tweeters to the front. (bi-wiring each). I am still blown away at how good these sound. JBLs do not disappoint.

Nice speaker, just over priced compared to what you can get with either Klipsch or Polk Audio
I would shop around unless you can get it for $119 a speaker

Audiophile Speaker - Bargain Price
JBL speakers were and still are a top brand since I bought my first stereo in the 80's. The A180 is the #2 model of JBL's flagship "Stage" speaker series which more than live up to excellent reviews. SOUND: Incredibly detailed, accurate and clear sound in low-mid-high frequencies, well-maintained over a wide dynamic (soft to loud) range. Could hear new details and nuances listening to music I've had for years. Small Baroque and jazz ensembles sounded like they were performing live in my house. Terrific, accurate bass response out of 6.5" woofers. Excellent for music from classical to classic rock. For music, no need whatsoever for any subwoofer or centre channel, stellar performance in a 2-speaker stereo configuration. For home theatre, would recommend additional centre/side/sub speakers, but only for surround and very low-frequency subsonic effects. CONSTRUCTION: Front-facing high & mid speakers placed in top half of the cabinet above average chair arms, which negates most high/mid muffling if placed behind typical upholstered furniture. Rear-ported woofers are located lower down. Solid, well built, and handsome matte black composite cabinet with outrigger legs for extra stability. Includes rubber or spike feet for hardwood or carpeted floors. Bi-amp compatible; accepts banana plug or screw-down bare wire connections. SUMMARY: Bought as a second room stereo-only "B" speaker set, these A180's put my not-bad Polk TSi500 home theatre tower speakers to shame. At $450 Cdn/speaker, an incredible value, second pair of A180's already ordered.

Excellent pour cinéma maison
Très bon pour un cinéma maison et musique a l'exception du hip hop. Les spkrs on de la misère a prendre les bon coup bass très bas et c'est normal selon moi vue que ce sont seulement des 6.5 pouces. Mais pour le reste cela reste excellent. Branché sur ampli denon avrs750h.
