I have been drinking coffee for about 50 years; the last 20 I have been using Barista machines. I always used French Roast whole beans (Currently Kirkland from Costco) because I like the robust flavor. I do use sweetener and non-dairy creamer in my coffee. I want to stop drinking coffee and was looking for an alternative; reading many reviews I decided to give Pero a try. It arrived today and I made me a cup. First of all, I used 3 heaping teaspoons of Pero in my coffee mug (about 9 oz very hot water) and added my usual amount of sweetener and creamer. First observation was that there was actually a little bit of crema on top and it had a pleasant odor, almost coffee like. My cup of Pero "coffee tasted great, a little nutty, not earthy and robust (thanks to 3 spoons). It was also sweeter, so, the next time I will not use any additional sweetener. I usually don't write long reviews, if any. I was truly impressed with the taste of Pero, if somebody would just handed me a cup I would have never known it wasn't real coffee. I can definitely recommend Pero if you need to have an alternative for coffee. Great product!

This is a good substitute for coffee. It has flavor and sharpness and I found it easy to switch. The flavor can be enhanced by adding oat milk and such like.

Sometimes I want a coffee in the afternoon - or even as dessert after dinner - but I definitely don't want to be up all night. This gives you a similar hot beverage (with milk) experience but steers clear of afternoon and evening jitters. It is not coffee and doesn't taste like coffee. It's its own thing - sort of a grain like flavor. I like it enough. Also I add a ton of milk and sometimes even a drop of cream.

I can’t handle much caffeine, so finding Pero was a total game-changer for me. To be honest, the first sip tasted a bit like slightly burnt coffee, but once I added some Coffee-mate, it transformed completely! Now, it tastes just like a regular cup of coffee. I find myself drinking two or three cups a day without any jitters. It’s absolute heaven for anyone looking for a satisfying, caffeine-free alternative!

I’ve been drinking this coffee alternative for almost thirty years and love it. It has a nice flavor that comes from the mix of grains and although it doesn’t taste like coffee, gives you the same kind of flavor without so much bitterness which can be nice in the afternoon. I also like to mix into into my morning coffee on days I don’t want so much caffeine. Removed a star because the last delivery was put in a paper bag and it popped open during shipping and half the contents were in the shipping bag, which then ended up all over the counter when I opened it. But Amazon was quick and easy with a refund.
