Amazon can't seem to send mattress and pump together, either or. On 3rd replacement. Anyone had this experience?

Yes, when the pump is not packaged in the same box as the mattress. It is irritating to return and order again. More importantly, the person who needs the air mattress is uncomfortable waiting for it to arrive useable. It must be costly for Amazon to make special arrangements to pick up the large and heavy package for return.

This new model seems to have had the Fowler function removed. How does this bed handle people who sit up to work?

Not a problem at all. You can increase the comfort level setting if you feel like your low in the bed. Love the mattress!
