Way better than the metal kind
Swapped out all the old metal butterfly backs on my pins for these rubber ones and I’ll never go back. They grab the posts tightly, and don't slip. Great value!

better than the metal ones
got these to replace a few of my hat pins cuz the metal ones were not tight enough and pin kept turning upside down with these they are a nice thick rubber type back and push in tight and pin doesn’t move anymore and came in a good little plastic case so you don’t loose the rest of them or can easily throw them in a backpack or glove box to have them available in case you loose one or drop one changing out your pins :)

These are so much better than the backings that come on regular rank insignia. They hold tight and just feel better.

Not just backs.
I thought this just had backings but there are also flat faced pins as well. They fit together very securely much better grip than the metal backs on most pins.

They work pretty well. I would expect it to become loose as the pin is being reattached several times, but... there's a plenty of those in the box. The price is very good as well as quality.
