Bringing Paris Home Review: Wonderful book - Bringing Paris Home by Penny Drue Baird- I'll keep this short and to the point (if I'm able to). I loved this book and take it out and look at it often. It's chock-full of beautiful pages of interiors. It's a few years old, so it's not full of the mid-20th-century. Penny is a very talented woman, as an interior designer and for having put this beautiful book together. Penny has several other books I must investigate as this one is already ten years old. I love this book. Review: Four Stars - Didn't realize the book would be missing the dust cover. Contents were enjoyable however.

Beautiful photos but little information
This is a great coffee table book and the photos are interesting. However, it is filled mostly with American houses that have tried to look European rather than the real thing, and there is absolutely nothing to teach the reader about what distinguishes one period from another. I'm glad I bought it, but it missed an opportunity to be much more valuable.

Fabulous
Just by looking at the pictures, you are with Penny in Paris, seating outside with a "cafe" and a "croissant" It is a wonderful book. Thank you Penny, for taking the time and the research about our Paris.

Wishing You were in Paris?
If you can't get to Paris, this book will satisfy a little of that urge. Beautiful photographs of lush homes furnished and accessorized as only Parisions do. Especially intriguing is the window fabric on the cover and in the inside pages. Exactly what is it, and how was it made? So very ooh-la-la!

Hard pass
Even though I purchased this book via the used book market for a song, I regret buying it. Like others have noted, the styles shown are uninspired, dated (and neither timeless, nor old-world charming), use the same limited color palette and styles in every photo, and do not accurately represent a Parisian--or even European--design aesthetic. On top of that, there is minimal narrative in the book, and no explanation of why the layout, design, color schemes, etc. were chosen. Finally, many of the pictures are blurry while others have poor lighting, which makes a book that relies solely on the promise of beautiful pictures sorely lacking. Sadly, I will be donating this one.

A great decorating resource.
Filled with beautiful examples of decorating ideas that remind us of how a few changes can create the most welcoming home.

This book is out of date and does not reflect Parisian design or style. My fault not checking the copyright date. Disappointing
