I use a shallow dish in their container which is large plastic box with a vented top- also have used cardboard egg cartons which last about two weeks- they like to hide in them and you can put the chow in cartons too- have about 40 Dubia's right now, I give them fresh water crystals every few days

My daughter adds it to the container as is, no water added. We do have the water gels scattered throughout the container. The roaches seem to enjoy their last meal
