A beast! Super versatile. Great value. Sent back my Vitamix for this one.
So about a year ago I decided my Oster is not truly a blender, but more of a mixer. So I started looking into getting a Vitamix. Prices - sky is the limit! Those things are pretty expensive! To save some dinero I purchase a reconditioned 5200 Vitamix directly from the company. Price - 300 plus 25 shipping plus 21 tax = 346. I thought I got a good deal, so before it came I started looking for various recipes, uses etc. that a powerful blender would deliver. In my search I stumbled upon 2 videos that pretty much changed the way I looked at a blender, and rocked my belief that the Vitamix was the best I could get in that price range. And that was even before my blender was delivered! So I jumped on my computer and ordered this Waring (for about 330 bucks at the time). Both got home in the same time pretty much. So which one did I end up with? The Waring, of course. How did they compare? There is not a night-and-day one. They are both very, very good blenders. But in every test I did in the short time I had both, the Waring stood out. The power, blending action, and overall feeling reinforced my decision to keep the Waring and return the Vitamix. Any regret? Absolutely NONE! This thing is a beast. Nothing can stop it! It has so much torque! It is truly one of my best appliances (I try to purchase commercial quality as often as I can - I also have the Waring WFP14SC , the KitchenAid KSM8990OB , the Weston 08-0801-W , among others) and I reach for it every time I have the chance. I make nut butters, coconut butter, fine purees, almond milk, coconut milk, smoothies, blended juices, shaved ice, nutella, and many, many more. There are some recipes (such as carrot puree) in which the speed and friction created will actually cook the food! I have also used it to make corn meal for polenta out of whole corn kernels. Is this perfect? No, not at all. When making ice cream, it doesn't matter how slow or fast I use it, it will not mix well. So I had to make my own tamper similar to the Vitamix one. Also, the container is fairly wide at the base, so it needs a bit larger quantities when making nut butters, etc. More, the container is not very resistant. It didn't break (and I blended some nasty stuff, as you will probably too after seeing the videos I seen) but it has now scars and it is cloudy at the base (to fix it I have just purchased the Waring stainless steel container CAC90 - you can also get it without the lid but with a blade for a bit cheaper, Waring model 503346 , or without the blade or the lid Waring model 026648 . The lid from the plastic container fits perfectly). And also, it would have been nice to have a smaller, maybe even upside-down container, for a quick marinade or a vinaigrette. BUT, this is nitpicking, as this is indeed a fantastic blender, and I would not trade it for anything else. If not convinced, please search for and see the following videos: "The Waring Xtreme Blender" by KaTom (S3VG24BJ0-Q on youtube), end especially this one: "Science of Blending โข Impact โข ChefSteps" by ChefSteps (eCJ313gICFg on youtube) - I never knew you could blend golf balls!!! Watch them, it will change the way you look at this blender - I promise. All in all - highly recommended!

Waring MX1200XTX vs. Vitamix 7500
I owned a Vitamix 7500 for six months until the motor burn out blending peanut butter, oatmeal, a few frozen fruits and two scoops of protein powder for one of my daily shakes. I was very disappointed after paying $560 for that blender. To their credit Vitamix handled the warranty claim very quickly and had my blender fixed and sent back to me with a new motor in one week. However I did not pay top dollar just to have a refurbished blender after a mere six months. So I sold it on craigslist and was on the prowl again for a new blender with commercial level power. I am a avid weightlifter so 3 to 4 shakes a day are necessary for me to maintain my lean muscle mass. I heard very good comments on the Waring MX1200 from a friend of mine so I decided to give it a try and purchased one from Amazon this week. Received it in three days with free shipping. I blended four shakes with it today. I can tell that it's motor is indeed more powerful than the Vitamix 7500. The Vitamix 7500 was a very good blender and blended my shakes very well. However the Waring MX 1200 blends my shakes to a much finer degree. There is no hint of leaves or pieces from my frozen fruit and certainly no grit leftover from my raw oats. With the Vitamix my ingredients would be grown down fairly fine, but their would be small pieces of fruit leftover at times or a bit of grit from my raw oats at the bottom of my cup. Both blenders are great in their own right, however the Vitamix 7500 is very much overpriced, has a weaker motor, and does not grind ingredients down to as fine a mixture as the Waring MX 1200 does. So there you have it a folks. A quick comparison between the Waring MX1200 and Vitamix's newest generation home blender which is the Vitamix 7500. And I'm here to tell you the Waring MX1200 wins hands down for two hundred bucks cheaper. And I'm a guy whose blending shakes multiple times a day so I'm a fairly heavy user. I say get the Waring MX 1200 any day over the Vitamix 7500.

The best blender of all time
Blends anything easily and quickly, doesn't walk off the counter or vibrate, easy simple to use and understand controls. Blends from chunky to velvety smooth. It has never stalled or jammed on anything no matter how tough or hard. A Jar stuffed with super frozen items will require some tamping to get them to feed but everything else feeds by itself. Super durable, we have been using it daily for over a year and it looks like new still. I estimate the life to be 5-20 years of daily use, AND ITS MADE IN THE USA! Its not even expensive. Its the Cheapest blender of its class (Vitamix et al) and works lots better than all of them. The only drawback for some people is the weight, It does weigh a ton so for some people lugging it from a cabinet to the countertop may be a chore but once it is there you totally forget that because of how well it works! One other thing to note is that the blender itself is not loud at all the chopping of food at high speed is super loud. That why juice bars have this cases over their blenders to quiet them down. This doesn't have a sound dampening box so if you don't like loud noise your going to have to keep the speed dial turned down. But then you won't get velvety smooth food. I like the included clear plastic jar (which is super tough and easy to clean) because you can see the food inside and measure it easily but if your afraid of plastic you can get the optional all stainless jar for this blender.
