Been using brother ink for years and we’ve had no problem with it. It lasts us a long time. I used it in college and now I’m using it for homeschooling and it lasts a long time. I’ve used the Walmart generic and the printer can never detect the cartridge so these brand ones are great. I think they are a great value and cost friendly.

Quick delivery and brand meets my needs for my Brother printer. Also performs well, have bought several times.

I realize it is their business model, sell the printer cheap and charge a premium for ink, so I will not hold that against them - but selling two types of ink for the same printer (high capacity or regular) is just annoying. Who wants smaller tanks of ink? This isn't a value meal at a local fast-food joint. This is ink. Which one fits and works and how much ink can I get for as low a cost as I can without gunking up the works. I know there are non-OEM ink vendors (some even here on Amazon), but I've found that a lot of those inks end up eventually killing your printer. Granted, a replacement these days is fairly cheap, but who wants to go through that hassle every couple of months/years simply to save a few bucks on ink? Overall, the ink does what ink is supposed to do. The package is easy to open and the ink is easy to install in my printer. I have not done any independent tests on how many prints you can get per ink well, but I've found that they last for quite some time for the "average" level of printing I do at home. I do, however, recommend you get the "high capacity" ink cartridges, as the other ones are just junk and deplete before you know it.

Named brand ink for less than local businesses.

I like Brother inkjet printers because they offer the least expensive OEM (original equipment manufacturer) cartridges of all the major brands (e.g., HP, Canon, Epson, Lexmark & Brother) while providing good print quality. As with many of you, I was tempted early on to use the least expensive replacement ink cartridges that I could find. These substitute cartridges worked OK in the short haul. In the long haul, however, for multiple brands of printers, I found myself having to run the print head cleaner cycle more & more frequently with continued degrading of print quality. For just about every printer where I used inexpensive replacement ink cartridges, I had to eventually replace the print head or get a new printer. My conclusion is that use of non-OEM printer cartridges over the long term reduces the life of the print head. I now have two Brother printers. My first one, where I have been using Brother OEM cartridges exclusively, is now over 10 years old and I have not any problems with degrading print quality or the print head. I cannot say the same for the other printers I have owned where I used inexpensive non-OEM print cartridges. I intend to follow the same plan of using only OEM cartridges (LC1003) in my new Brother printer. Unless you do regular broad spectrum color printing, certain colors will tend to be printed more than others. This is why you want to have a printer where the color cartridges can be replaced separately. It follows that you then purchase cartridges only for the colors that you use up. It is more cost effective, however, to purchase the 3 packs of the color cartridges. For me, it means that I may have a extra 1 or 2 yellow cartridges, which is the least used color for my printing purposes.
