How heavy is the jump rope?

Only 4 to 6oz. It's a kids toy. Much too light to be effective for a medium or tall(6') adult. The rope is too light weight. Don't waste your money if you are serious about working out.

I'm 6-3 is this jump rope good for me?

Not sure if youve purchased this already, but im 6-3 as well, and its slightly too short for me. Ive adjusted both ends to where i couldnt make them any longer and still slightly short. If youre doing workout jumping, id recommend something a bit longer. I gave both ropes to my 2 daughters. Too long for them, but at least i was able to make them shorter. Hope this helps.

Does this speed rope kink easily?

I've had no problem with that. Rope works well

Is the handle too thick for kids to use?

I don't think so. Handles are very light
