Purchased for My Son’s College Piano Studies
I purchased this book for my son because it was required for his college piano studies. It contains a large collection of classical piano pieces in one book, which makes it convenient for having a variety of music available in one place. It was exactly what he needed for his class, and we were happy with the purchase. For a piano student who needs access to a broad collection of classical pieces, having so many selections together in one volume is very practical.

I think I'm in love.
Okay I've only just opened the book - the binding is good, the paper is sturdy - and the first piece is Bach and I turns out I already know how to play it, kind of, and so I'm already playing from the book and it makes me happy. If I only get the one piece of music that I can play out of the whole, book, I'm already satisfied, but I'm looking forward to the Beethoven and the Chopin . . . Rock and Roll stole that Bach "Minuet in G major" and it became: A Lovers Concerto by The Toys

Best piano collection for the price
For the price, this is probably the best piano collection book you can find. The notes/text is well printed and the correct size. Additionally it stays flat due to the binder-like spine. I’ve found one misprint so far (a misplaced double sharp in Chopin’s Posthumous Nocturne) and a few spots where I disagree with the fingering, but nothing that can’t be solved with a pencil.

Great book
I love this book because it is more advanced. There are some great classical songs that I am familiar with and enjoy learning the other songs. I especially like the spiral binding.

Thorough compilation
Nice variety in this collection, ranging from intermediate to advanced. Clear printing throughout. Deducting one star because the pages are a bit hard to turn with the coil binding, and I've had several pages snag in between the book and the lip of the music stand.

Bought this book to replace one I have worn out. Love the binding, love the collection of music. Great book for any pianist.

One of the best compilations ever
When I graduated high school, my piano teacher at the time, the late Shirley Newton, gave me a copy of this with a very sweet note written inside. I continued to play songs in this book for years to come. Unfortunately during my divorce, my ex got rid of all of my music including this book. For some reason I could not find it anywhere. I had bought another big classical piano compilation book, but it just wasn't as well done or enjoyable to play out of. Then recently I just happened to search again for it and I found it. I immediately ordered a copy of it and am delighted now to be able to play from it again. The first song in it is The Well Tempered Clavier - Prelude No 1 by JS Bach, which to me is the perfect song to open up a wonderful collection of music with. Beethoven, Bach, Haydn, Chopin, Debussy...everyone you can think of. It is an essential part of anyone's music collection especially if you're even just a casual.

Modernly written, originals
Written well, original pieces. Not for beginners. Challenging!

Ottima raccolta!

Wonderful
Possibly the best compilation of piano solos I've ever had (and I've had a few). One or two very minor errors (eg in one of the Satie Gnossiennes) but that was more than compensated by the amount of wonderful pieces, including substantial works you rarely find in anthologies such as Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody in C#m. If I had to recommend one classical piano book, it would probably be this one.
