142 Pc Art Set with Colored Pencils, Crayons, Pastels, Watercolors in Wood Carrying Case

ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS GIFT FOR A YOUNG ARTIST! = The set is ideal for a child. I was looking for an amazing birthday gift and art set is that for any child who either loves to doodle or you want to inspire him her to do less TV and more of some intelligent and imaginative activity especially during any long school break as Summer or Winter or any time really = The set has all that little kid needs and does not have all that you would not put yourself in it I especially appreciate the fact that it DOES NOT have acrylic included as this makes it safe for younger kids. Acrylic paints tend to have metal based color and require certain level of skills to handle that little kids do not posse yet. Acrylic is a whole another kind of animal so I feel much better entrusting this set to a young one to have freedom of use without my supervision as the crayons and watercolor is something they are pro by the age of 5 and safe to use while acrylic could pose danger as it is not as child friendly and safe medium as the other ones plus, if they mess up with watercolor the cleaning is a breeze what can not be said about acrylic that can cause permanent damage to clothing and anything it lands if not washed out immediately and if you are not lucky enough to the surface it land on. = The set came in neat wooden or sort of wooden box. I won't dwell on the quality or material used as it does look and feel like wood and at this price I won't be picky for one and for two, still better then other metallic or plastic containers out t here for similar price. I personally like the classic feel to it even if i is not your acacia or oak wood precisely. = The top shelf aka lid is filled with woolen crayons what appear to be of medium hardness.. not too soft, not too hard, just your average kids' grade. Then you have an eraser, color coding chart, sharpener and few black pencils that are curiously coded in red wood. The body of the box itself has two parts - the belly and the drawer. The drawer can be fully extended or removed which is also neat as a young artist can simply either take it out and put it on the table for drawing without a need of setting the whole box r it can be taken out and set atop of the box if the crayons is all needed. The belly has pastels and watercolor sets in it, the bottom drawer is filled with crayons. All very god quality, well balancing in hand and very good vibrant colors. I do highly recommend this set for a child. This seems to be a great memory maker. I suggested age of up to 9 but if you have more avid artist. For older child over 9 however I would go with set that includes acrylic and ideally different grades of gray scale pencils but then again, consider that acrylic will require very close supervision and different work station set up as it messy and also consider acrylic safety as it is not safe for younger children as it contains lots of heavy metals that artist do not come in contact with normally but a small child is another story :)
