I recently purchased a new Laguna 14" bandsaw. I decided to use this BORA universal mobility base instead of buying the OEM mobility kit from Laguna (which was over twice the price and had only so-so reviews). Another big plus is that the BORA has 4 wheels (instead of 3 on the OEM mobility kit), making it steady and easy to maneuver.I was very pleased at how sturdy the overall construction was and am very comfortable that this will easily handle my 270 lb. bandsaw. Assembly is straightforward, but the instructions could be improved (there are a lot of pictures, but it was not always clear where to use certain parts like washers). The foot operated wheel lift mechanisms are metal (as opposed to plastic used on some other universal bases) and appear to be very sturdy and the rails were made of very heavy gauge material. The finish on all parts is also very good, and while this is not essential to functionality, it does give you a sense of overall good quality.I plan to purchase a second unit for my table saw and would not hesitate to recommend this product to anyone looking for a good quality cost effective mobility base for their power tools.

I have now purchased two of these, one for a table saw one for a band saw. Assembling the first one was really tedious since I had a splint on one hand and opposable thumbs are important (but even with that handicap I did get it assembled). Once it was together, it worked fine and being able to move my table saw around really made my workspace more manageable.So I, purchased a second one. It went together in a fraction of the time (with two hands working) and has proved just as valuable.There are a lot of negative reviews for this product and I just don't get it! Both of mine function flawlessly. The finish quality is good; they roll well and steer well and they are stable when locked down (because they lock by raising the wheels and setting the base down on adjustable rubber feet rather than clamping the caster wheels). My use is not industrial--I don't move these around constantly and I'm not pushing the weight limit but for my home shop they are great. I wish I had done this years ago.Nobody paid me or gave me anything free for this review.

I bought this for my PM66 table saw. It is rated for the weight, and was a lot less expensive than the 3500 version, which would have been overkill. Assembly was straightforward, even though the instructions are not very good. All of the hardware was included. And the parts are well made with nice powder coated finish. One issue I could not get an answer on before I bought it was whether the Bora 3245 extension base would fit this. Since Bora doesn't sell but one extension base, I hoped it would. But it doesn't. It only fits the 3500 base. It would be easy for them to make an adapter, but they don't. So I'm deducting a star for that. Either buy the 3500 base (at twice the price) or plan on making your own adapter like I'm doing.

Over all a good product. I used it under a Baileigh TS1040e-30 cabinet saw which weighs about 480 pounds. Due to my putting the saw on the wheel platform by myself, a bit roughly, I found out the 6mm bolts used for axles for the 2 fixed wheels are not very highly graded bolts. Lol they bent. I replaced them with 8.8 grade bolts and also installed a piece of plywood on the platform under the saw and had much better results. Saw now is very easy to roll around and when you raise the wheels is quite stable.

Reviewed other products from Amazon - other reviewers noted many have plastic foot cams to raise and lower base. This one has steel parts; except for the wheels, the entire device is steel - very sturdy and not at all fragile. My Craftsman table saw - under 100 lbs, poses no challenge whatsoever to this base.The assembly directions were not ideal, but they got the job done. Parts orientation is easier to determine from the exploded drawing at the beginning of the manual. Actual assembly is straightforward; the real fun begins when you mount your table saw or other tool. Finding the right dimensions is a "jigsaw puzzle", not covered in the instruction manual, and a bit of a challenge until you figure it out. You can move the bars in 1" increments, and the larger bar on each side (as I assembled it) has slots that allow about ½" movement, so accuracy is attainable. I wound up assembling and disassembling the side bars multiple times finding the right dimension for locating the feet of the saw table over the holes in the mobile base corner pieces. It helps to use a floor jack or something to get the saw just above the base an inch or so, making the process a bit less "work". By adjusting the "slotted" bar at the corner, then where it attaches to the smaller bar with holes, it seems you can get infinite adjustment, but you have to fiddle a lot to actually get the saw fastened to the base. Once done, I tightened everything up and was good to go.A couple of things to remember - the saw on its base is now about 4 to 5" deeper because of the location on the corner pieces and the foot-cams. My saw doesn't fit as nicely on the side of the garage as it used to; just a "heads up" if you have limited space.One of the foot cams has more action in raising the base than the other. I studied the base a long time to figure that out, and am convinced I cannot adjust that out; it appears to be a slight misalignment of the welded bracket on the corner piece - even ⅛" would be enough to change the camping action. It is not a deal breaker, but a bit annoying they couldn't locate the foot-cam bracket more accurately.All in all, this thing will last longer than the saw - it is very sturdy, heavy-gauge metal, with only the wheels being plastic. A good buy for just a few dollars more than the plastic el-cheapo model.

This 2-caster mobile base seems sturdy enough and reasonably well built. However, there is a significant flaw in the design as implemented.It's important that the two feet sit solidly on the ground when the tool is in use. There shouldn't be any weight on the swivel wheels at the same corners as the fixed feet -- especially since the other two corners on this base are always resting on wheels. In order to unload the swivel wheels completely, the feet have to be adjusted to the very lowest possible position, where the threads on the feet don't stick out above the jam nut at all. With the feet in that position, the base is nowhere near level. I'm using the base with a somewhat top-heavy tool (a drill press) and it needs to be level when in use.When the swivel wheels are engaged to move the tool, bases of this type have some expected tilt. Turns out, this tilt is in the same direction as the unwanted tilt the base has when the feet are engaged, so the two sources of tilt ADD. I don't know whether the combined tilt would be too much for my tool to be moved safely.I addressed this problem by adding a metal plate on the low side of the tilted base, between the base and the bottom of the tool. I used a custom-cut piece of 3/8" flat bar made of hot-rolled steel. This removes most (but not quite all) of the unwanted tilt when the wheels are at their lowest possible position.In addition to this design defect, one of the four provided nylon lock nuts was missing its nylon insert. I found it more convenient to buy replacement lock nuts at a local hardware store, rather than try to contact the manufacturer or seller for replacement lock nuts.

I bought two of these and adapted them to our new LG Front Load Washer & Dryer pedestals. I put the raise/lower paddles towards the rear and made a pole with a hook on the end so can engage or retract the wheels. So now, we can roll these extremely heavy machines out of the laundry room anytime we want. My 5'2" 120# wife can do it herself. The only problem I encountered was that the front wheels cannot be utilized by themselves. They can wobble and this allows the washing machine to "walk" itself across the floor. So, I also bought 4/ea "1-1/2 Inch Solid Rubber Vibration Dampening Foot Pad - Reduce Equipment Noise & Movement " on Amazon which we now slide under the dolly frame next to the wheels once the machines are in place. This raises the wheels up off the floor and makes a solid connection to the floor. No more walking! Bottom line; this made hooking up the washer and dryer extremely easy and now we can move them once and a while to clean the dryer flue and wash the floor underneath the machines. If they ever need service, will be a breeze to get them out in the open for the Maytag guy!

This is not a quality base. The carriage bolts for the stationary wheels are too short. Instructions are horrible. The cam on the foot pedals are not large enough to move the wheels into place when you need to move the base. Lastly it doesn’t roll well.I’ve long been a fan of bora mobile bases but something has changed in their quality control and design.

The base was assembled in 5 minutes and had enough adjustment to allow for use on any piece of equipment I have. It allows the equipment to be moved easily and locked into place for stationary use.

Easy assembly and works well moving 500 lb table saw.

These “Mobile” bases weren’t able to be mobile until I manufactured some bits to help the kick down levers remain in the down position. For those who want a simple, out-of-the-box solution, these are NOT the bases you want to purchase. For the price, I expected them to function as intended, without me having to re-engineer them.
